An LFT/SDP approach to the uncertainty analysis for state [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
A state estimator is an algorithm that computes the current state of a time-varying system from on-line measurements. Physical quantities such as measurements and parameters are characterised by uncertainty.

Interaction between Molten Al‐Killed Mn–B Steel and Carbon‐Bonded MgO Refractories Based on Recyclates

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
High‐temperature interactions between low‐sulfur Al‐killed Mn–B steel and MgO–C refractories (0 and 50 wt% recyclates) are studied via finger immersion tests (1600 °C). Surface‐active elements influence infiltration. MgO/CaS layer forms, along with spinel and calcium silicate.

Fuzzy-based composite indicator development methodology for evaluating overall project performance

open access: yesJournal of Civil Engineering and Management, 2015
Construction companies develop and use composite indicators to evaluate their overall project performance. However, the conventional methodology of composite indicator development causes “the indiscrimination problem”, a low degree of performance ...

Data validation: a case study for a feed-drive monitoring [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
The monitoring of machine-tools implicated in the metal cutting process is the subject of increasing developments because of requests on control, reliability, availability of machine-tools and on work-piece quality.

Composites of Shellac and Silver Nanowires as Flexible, Biobased, and Corrosion‐Resistant Transparent Conductive Electrodes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Shellac, a centuries‐old natural resin, is reimagined as a green material for flexible electronics. When combined with silver nanowires, shellac films deliver transparency, conductivity, and stability against humidity. These results position shellac as a sustainable alternative to synthetic polymers for transparent conductors in next‐generation ...

DEVICE DISTINGUISHING DIGITAL MODULATED SIGNALS BASED ORDERED CHOICE

open access: yesВестник Северо-Кавказского федерального университета, 2022
Typically, digital signals with phase modulation (PM) have the time and information redundancy, thus using properties of order statistics samples of small volume, in particular, the sample median, the proposed increase in the accuracy of measurement of ...

Equations for determining aircraft motions for accident data [PDF]

open access: yes
Procedures for determining a comprehensive accident scenario from a limited data set are reported. The analysis techniques accept and process data from either an Air Traffic Control radar tracking system or a foil flight data recorder.

Expanding Chemical Space of Nucleic Acid Nanoparticles for Tunable Antiviral‐Like Immunomodulatory Responses and Potent Adjuvant Activity

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We introduce a nucleic acid nanoparticle (NANP) platform designed to be rrecognized by the human innate immune system in a regulated manner. By changing chemical composition while maintaining constant architectural parameters, we identify key determinants of immunorecognition enabling the rational design of NANPs with tunable immune activation profiles

Detecting and Refactoring Operational Smells within the Domain Name System

open access: yes, 2015
The Domain Name System (DNS) is one of the most important components of the Internet infrastructure. DNS relies on a delegation-based architecture, where resolution of names to their IP addresses requires resolving the names of the servers responsible ...

Quantifying redundancies and synergies with measures of inequality

open access: yesPLOS ONE
Inequality measures provide a valuable tool for the analysis, comparison, and optimization based on system models. This work studies the relation between attributes or features of an individual to understand how redundant, unique, and synergetic interactions between attributes construct inequality.
