Measuring Competitiveness [PDF]
This paper reviews alternative approaches to measuring an economy's cost competitiveness and proposes some new measures derived from the economic theory of index numbers. The indices provide a theoretical benchmark for estimated real effective exchange rates, but differ from standard measures in that they are based on marginal rather than average ...

We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

Design of electric vehicle communication control system based on ISO15118
The charging protocol for domestic electric vehicles is different from that of the European Union and other countries, and a charging communication controller that meets EU standards must be installed before it can be exported to the EU market.

Mechanisms of IgE‐mediated food allergy and the role of allergen‐specific B cells
Food allergy arises when allergen‐specific B cells preferentially produce immunoglobulin E (IgE) antibodies against harmless foods. This article explains the mechanisms driving IgE‐mediated reactions, highlights the central role of these B cells, and discusses how natural tolerance (NT) and oral immunotherapy (OIT) can reshape allergic immune responses.

Tunneling times with covariant measurements
We consider the time delay of massive, non-relativistic, one-dimensional particles due to a tunneling potential. In this setting the well-known Hartman effect asserts that often the sub-ensemble of particles going through the tunnel seems to cross the ...

In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Frequency domain estimation method of the characteristic period of the P wave of earthquakes
Early warning system earthquake alerts exploit the time delay that the surface waves have in reference to the P waves and estimate the magnitude based on the interpretation of the specific parameters of the P waves.

Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...

Features of eddy current sensor signal processing
Background. Current-vortex sensors are widely used to solve various technical problems. The efficiency of using sensors depends on the method used to process its output signal.
