Entropy and Information within Intrinsically Disordered Protein Regions [PDF]
Bioinformatics and biophysical studies of intrinsically disordered proteins and regions (IDRs) note the high entropy at individual sequence positions and in conformations sampled in solution.

Time‐resolved X‐ray solution scattering captures how proteins change shape in real time under near‐native conditions. This article presents a practical workflow for light‐triggered TR‐XSS experiments, from data collection to structural refinement. Using a calcium‐transporting membrane protein as an example, the approach can be broadly applied to study ...

This protocol paper outlines methods to establish the success of a time‐resolved serial crystallographic experiment, by means of statistical analysis of timepoint data in reciprocal space and models in real space. We show how to amplify the signal from excited states to visualise structural changes in successful experiments.

How well do practical information measures estimate the Shannon entropy? [PDF]
Estimating the entropy of finite strings has applications in areas such as event detection, similarity measurement or in the performance assessment of compression algorithms.

14‐day casting‐induced immobilization reduced gastrocnemius muscle mass and increased non‐heme iron and ferritin heavy chain levels. Despite iron accumulation, transferrin receptor 1 and iron regulatory protein 2 were paradoxically upregulated. Lipid peroxidation was elevated without compensatory antioxidant responses.

Complex entropy and resultant information measures [PDF]
Classical and nonclassical contributions to Author’s resultant Shannon- and Fisher-type measures of the information content in general electronic state $$\varphi ( {\varvec{r}} ) =R( {\varvec{r}}) \hbox { exp}[\hbox {i}\phi ( {\varvec{r}} )]$$

Systemic dysregulation of apolipoproteins in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis serum
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a fatal disease that damages motor neurons. This study found that people with ALS show significant changes in blood fats and the proteins that carry them. Several apolipoproteins were higher, lipid balances were altered, and normal protein–lipid relationships were disrupted.

Linguistic hesitant intuitionistic fuzzy cross-entropy measures
In this paper, several cross-entropy measures for linguistic hesitant intuitionistic fuzzy information have been developed which integrating cross-entropy measures of intuitionistic fuzzy sets and hesitant fuzzy linguistic sets. Some desirable properties

Activation of the mitochondrial protein OXR1 increases pSyn129 αSynuclein aggregation by lowering ATP levels and altering mitochondrial membrane potential, particularly in response to MSA‐derived fibrils. In contrast, ablation of the ER protein EMC4 enhances autophagic flux and lysosomal clearance, broadly reducing α‐synuclein aggregates.
