A Low Dimensional Approximation For Competence In Bacillus Subtilis
The behaviour of a high dimensional stochastic system described by a Chemical Master Equation (CME) depends on many parameters, rendering explicit simulation an inefficient method for exploring the properties of such models.

Background: Antimicrobial stewardship has become vital given the progressive emergence of multidrug‐resistant bacteria, and novel approaches to the treatment of bacterial infections are needed. Recently, reported synergistic effects of antibacterial drugs and bacteriophage therapy have revealed promising applications for the management of meticillin ...

This study identified Staphylococcus aureus in 26% of fish, hand and knife samples from Gondar, Ethiopia, with high multidrug resistance. Findings highlight unsafe handling practices and recommend improved hygiene, regular monitoring and targeted antibiotic use to reduce contamination risks and protect public health through a One Health approach ...

Staphylococcus aureus typing by digestion of protein A coding gene using Bsp143I [PDF]
Background: Protein A is the virulence factors of Staphylococcus aureus rolling in its pathogenesis, and its gene is used for typing. Polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism (PCR-RFLP) with different enzymes has been used for ...

Hypericin enhances β-lactam antibiotics activity by inhibiting sarA expression in methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus. [PDF]
Bacteremia is a life-threating syndrome often caused by methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA). Thus, there is an urgent need to develop novel approaches to successfully treat this infection.

Staphylococcal cassette chromosome mec typing and meca sequencing in methicillin-resistant staphylococci from Algeria: A highly diversified element with new mutations in mecA [PDF]
Genetic mechanisms of methicillin resistance are still relevant in staphylococci. The aims of this study are to assess the possible exchanges of staphylococcal cassette chromosome mec (SCCmec) among isolates of methicillin-resistant staphylococci (MRS ...

The AMP‐induced mutant Staphylococcus aureus strain nzR showed increased resistance, five gene mutations, and decreased surface anion levels. AMPs affect the NDH‐2 protein encoded by ndh gene inhibiting the growth of S. aureus. The deletion of the ndh gene promotes the development of AMPs resistance.

A HEV-restricted sulfotransferase is expressed in rheumatoid arthritis synovium and is induced by lymphotoxin-alpha/beta and TNF-alpha in cultured endothelial cells. [PDF]
BackgroundThe recruitment of lymphocytes to secondary lymphoid organs relies on interactions of circulating cells with high endothelial venules (HEV). HEV are exclusive to these organs under physiological conditions, but they can develop in chronically ...
