The Influence of Grain Crushing and Pore Collapse on the Formation of Faults

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Solid Earth, Volume 131, Issue 3, March 2026.
Abstract During an earthquake, slip occurs in a localized shear zone that features a heavily granulated fault core that can be characterized as a shear band. We study the formation of this fault core in a granular rock such as sandstone by developing a model of crushable granular media within the framework of Breakage Mechanics. This model accounts for

Les subsidences provoquées par la production des fluides souterrains Subsidence Induced by the Production of Fluids

open access: yesOil & Gas Science and Technology, 2006

open access: yesCanadian Geographies / Géographies canadiennes, Volume 70, Issue 1, Spring / printemps 2026.

open access: yesOil & Gas Science and Technology, 2006
Dans les puits pétroliers, par suite de l'accroissement de la profondeur, des températures statiques de fond voisines de 250 °C seront probablement atteintes dans un très proche avenir.

PEG‐23 glyceryl distearate, a multifunctional skin‐supporting material, upregulates the expression of factors associated with epidermal barrier and hydration

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cosmetic Science, Volume 47, Issue 6, Page 1056-1069, December 2025.
Polyethylene glycol‐23 glyceryl distearate (GDS‐23) forms niosomes and penetrates the skin. Our results suggest that the pharmacological effects following dermal penetration of GDS‐23 may enhance skin homeostasis by improving barrier function and moisture retention.

Multi-Dimensional Modeling of Combustion and Pollutants Formation of New Technology Light Duty Diesel Engines Modélisation multidimensionnelle de la combustion et de la formation des polluants dans les nouveaux moteurs diesel automobiles

open access: yesOil & Gas Science and Technology, 2006
In the present paper some results, obtained by the use of modern numerical CFD tools, are presented. In particular, starting from the experimental characterization of a common rail DI Diesel engine, the empirical constants of the different submodels were

Fault Permeability and Strength Evolution Related to Fracturing and Healing Episodic Processes (Years to Millennia): the Role of Pressure Solution Évolution de la perméabilité et de la résistance des failles associée à des processus épisodiques de fracturation et colmatage (années - millénaires) : le rôle de la dissolution cristallisation sous contrainte

open access: yesOil & Gas Science and Technology, 2011
It is well known that fluids flow through faults and fractures but it is also demonstrated that fault zones act as impermeable barriers. Consequently, one must consider that faults are successively open and closed paths for fluids.

SuperCam Raman Activities at Jezero Crater, Mars: Observational Strategies, Data Processing, and Mineral Detections During the First 1000 Sols

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Planets, Volume 130, Issue 11, November 2025.
Abstract The Mars 2020 Perseverance rover introduced Raman spectroscopy to in situ planetary exploration for the first time when it landed in Jezero crater on Mars in February 2021. The SuperCam instrument onboard Perseverance is a multi‐analytical tool capable of acquiring time‐resolved Raman data from Martian targets at standoff distances of a few ...
