Triple Valve Replacement With Bileaflet Mechanical Valves
A more durable mechanical valve may be a better choice for the tricuspid position than a bioprosthesis when the patient already has mechanical prosthesis in the left side of the heart. Eleven cases of triple valve replacement (total follow-up period, 49.5 patient years), all with mechanical valves, are reviewed to assess optimal valve selection.

A MXene‐based actuator with gradient thickness is fabricated by a novel and simple vacuum‐assisted “tilt‐filtration” approach. The actuator exhibits a “diode‐like” controllable unidirectional deformation behavior under moisture gradient, and its deformation direction is strictly correlated to its thickness gradient direction and moisture source ...

Water scarcity poses a critical threat to global food security. A low‐power, flexible electromagnetic actuator is presented for smart drip irrigation systems. The device achieves precise, wide‐range flow modulation (0.05–5.8 mL/min) in response to real‐time plant demands, reducing water consumption compared to conventional flood irrigation.

The Reliability of a Tunnel Boring Machine [PDF]
Greater levels of complexity in tunnelling with Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) allow higher chances of fail-ures that may increase the potential hazardous risks. This paper presents the results of a study on TBM reliability using risk analysis.
