ATF4‐mediated stress response as a therapeutic vulnerability in chordoma
We screened 5 chordoma cell lines against 100+ inhibitors of epigenetic and metabolic pathways and kinases and identified halofuginone, a tRNA synthetase inhibitor. Mechanistically halofuginone induces an integrated stress response, with eIF2alpha phosphorylation, activation of ATF4 and its target genes CHOP, ASNS, INHBE leading to cell death ...

Mechanical harvesting of Jojoba
If jojoba could be pruned to resemble tree-like plants recently found growing wild in Baja California, nuts could be harvested with existing equipment, making commercial jojoba plantations economically feasible.

Nonlinear MEMS Mechanism for Energy Harvesting from Mechanical Vibrations
The aim of this paper is the realization of a novel bistable U-shaped micro-electro-mechanical system to efficiently harvest energy from ambient vibrations. The classical approach is based on vibrating mechanical bodies (linear systems) that allow for collecting energy through the adoption of smart materials, magnetic or electrostatic solutions.

Cell surface interactome analysis identifies TSPAN4 as a negative regulator of PD‐L1 in melanoma
Using cell surface proximity biotinylation, we identified tetraspanin TSPAN4 within the PD‐L1 interactome of melanoma cells. TSPAN4 negatively regulates PD‐L1 expression and lateral mobility by limiting its interaction with CMTM6 and promoting PD‐L1 degradation.

Pharmacologic ascorbate (vitamin C) increases ROS, disrupts cellular metabolism, and induces DNA damage in CRPC cells. These effects sensitize tumors to PARP inhibition, producing synergistic growth suppression with olaparib in vitro and significantly delayed tumor progression in vivo. Pyruvate rescue confirms ROS‐dependent activity.

Post-harvest quality of fresh-marketed tomatoes as a function of harvest periods
Losses on tomato business chain start at harvest, a two-months period. At the beginning of the harvest, fruits concentrate at the basal part of the plant, then in the middle, and finally at the top, and undergo changes in diameter and maturity indexes as

One of the methods used to improve the durability of blueberry fruits is the application of nutrients through foliar feeding with calcium, which can improve the post-harvest mechanical parameters. This study proposed an optimal selection of calcium spray

The prevention of potato volunteers in organic farming systems by using pigs. [PDF]
In organic agriculture potato volunteers, presenting an important primary inoculum source for late Blight (Phytophthora infestans), are controlled by mechanical meth-ods. These may be partly replaced by ‘foraging’ livestock animals, such as cattle, sheep,

Therapeutic strategies for MMAE‐resistant bladder cancer through DPP4 inhibition
We established monomethyl auristatin E (MMAE)‐resistant bladder cancer (BC) cell lines by exposure to progressively increasing concentrations of MMAE in vitro. RNA sequencing showed DPP4 expression was increased in MMAE‐resistant BC cells. Both si‐DPP4 and the DPP4 inhibitor sitagliptin suppressed the viability of MMAE‐resistant BC cells.
