Blueberry Harvest Mechanisms

Bozok Tarım ve Doğa Bilimleri Dergisi
Blueberry (Vacciniumcorymbosum L.) is a perennial plant that shed leaves in winter. It is from Ericaceae family and it is in the form of bushes. It grows in temperate climates and its motherland is America. It spread from American culture 110 years ago. It can grow in lightly textured and acidic soil. For this reason, the areas where agriculture can be

Mechanical Harvesting of Apricots

Biosystems Engineering, 2003
An inertia type limb shaker hydraulically, powered and driven by the tractor power take-off, was designed and constructed for the mechanical harvesting of apricots. The study included some properties of apricot fruits, the apparent stiffness with respect to limb diameter, the time needed to shake a limb, optimum frequency and amplitude to obtain ...

Evaluation of Quality of Harvest and Mechanical Aspects Related to Beater Adjustments in Mechanical Grape Harvesting

Transactions of the ASABE, 2014
Abstract. Research was conducted on a trailed grape harvester that allows independent adjustment of frequency and amplitude of the beaters’ movement. The frequency ranged from 300 to 540 beats min-1, while the amplitude range was 30 to 90 mm and was managed by the operator using an electromechanical control.

HARVEST INDEX FOR MECHANICALLY HANDLED PEACH FRUITS IN POST-HARVEST

Acta Horticulturae, 2015
The aim of this study was to define harvest indexes, based on peach skin ground color, suitable to allow mechanical grading and reach at the same time high fruit quality. Two cultivars, ‘Springbelle’ and ‘Douceur’, were included in this research.

A survey on recent energy harvesting mechanisms

2016 IEEE Canadian Conference on Electrical and Computer Engineering (CCECE), 2016
In this paper, a summary of recent advancements in energy harvesting mechanisms is presented. These mechanisms are explained in three sections: electromagnetic, electrostatic, and piezoelectric. The energy density varies from different harvesting techniques where piezoelectric generates the highest, followed by electromagnetic and electrostatic ...

Autonomous wideband mechanical energy harvester

2012 IEEE International Symposium on Industrial Electronics, 2012
The aim of this work is to demonstrate, by theory and experiment, the feasibility of a mechanical energy harvester able to operate with a high efficiency over a wide vibration frequency band. Herein this work we propose a new method for adjusting the resonant frequency of a mechanical harvester, based on piezoelectric material.

Mechanical strawberry harvesting

2011
Total strawberry production in both Canada and the United States has been steadily declining for the past decade. This trend can, to a large extent, be attributed to the increasing cost and difficulty of getting this crop manually harvested. This research, therefore, is directed toward development of a mechanical harvesting system for strawberries ...
