In this explorative study, the abundance of circular RNA molecules in bone marrow stem cells was found to be elevated in patients with high‐risk myelodysplastic neoplasms, and to be associated with an increased risk of progression to acute myeloid leukemia.

The use of nonlinear filtering for a mechanical characterization of biological tissues [PDF]
Problems with regard to the mechanical characterization of biological tissues demand new methods to determine constitutive equations. Inhomogeneous properties, anisotropy and very complex time-dependent behavior forces investigators to develop numerical ...

Subtype‐specific enhancer RNAs define transcriptional regulators and prognosis in breast cancers
This study employed machine learning methodologies to perform the subtype‐specific classification of RNA‐seq data sets, which are mapped on enhancers from TCGA‐derived breast cancer patients. Their integration with gene expression (referred to as ProxCReAM eRNAs) and chromatin accessibility profiles has the potential to identify lineage‐specific and ...

Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.

Performance Assessment of Mechanically Recycled EPS
This study investigates the influence of mechanically recycled EPS on the mechanical and thermal properties of EPS composites for use in thermal insulation. Composites containing 5%, 10%, 25%, and 50% recycled EPS were produced using two recycled sources (construction EPS and packaging EPS).

Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

COMP–PMEPA1 axis promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition in breast cancer cells
This study reveals that cartilage oligomeric matrix protein (COMP) promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EMT) in breast cancer. We identify PMEPA1 (protein TMEPAI) as a novel COMP‐binding partner that mediates EMT via binding to the TSP domains of COMP, establishing the COMP–PMEPA1 axis as a key EMT driver in breast cancer.

Mechanical modelling of wood microstructure, an engineering approach
The macroscopic elastic behaviour of wood derives from the mechanical performance of the cells which form its microstructure. Numerical finite element models are presented which relate the elastic properties of the wood continuum to local cell ...
