The effect of compression and incision on wood veneer and plywood physical and mechanical properties
Wood Material Science & Engineering, 2018Drying takes the largest share of energy in plywood production, and varying moisture content of veneers necessitates re-drying that often leads to over-dry veneers with deactivated surfaces, which may promote imperfect bonding. In order to decrease the drying time, reduce the need for re-drying of veneers, and improve the quality of plywood, birch and ...

Effect of heat treatment on some physical and mechanical properties of birch plywood
European Journal of Wood and Wood Products, 2020The plywood consumption in various applications is increasing, especially in construction. In service, plywood can be exposed to a range of outdoor conditions, sometimes at elevated temperatures. This requires an understanding of the structural behavior and knowledge of the effects of the elevated temperatures on the properties of plywood.

Evaluation of Mechanical Properties of Plywood Treated with a new Wood Preservative (CEB) Chemical
Journal of The Institution of Engineers (India): Series D, 2016The objective of this study was to explore the physical and mechanical properties of the plywood made with phenolic glue and rubber wood as core veneer with CEB as a wood preservative. The studied properties were glue shear strength in dry, wet mycological, modulus of elasticity, modulus of rupture and tensile strength in parallel to grain direction as

Abstract The use of plywood made from domestic softwoods is being promoted in Japan. Synthetic adhesives derived from fossil resources are typically used to manufacture plywood. However, because of problems such as high environmental impact and difficulty in recycling, research on the boards produced using adhesives derived from natural products has ...

The effect of moisture content on some mechanical properties of film faced plywood
2022Plywood is one of the oldest known engineered wood materials. Film-faced plywood is successfully used in the construction of reinforced concrete structures and in the preparation of formwork. In this study, changes in some mechanical properties of film-faced plywood were investigated when moisture content increases.
