Balanced Expression of the Diiron Oxygenase BioE Is Essential for Biotin Homeostasis in Elizabethkingia meningoseptica

BioE is a new diiron oxygenase that catalyzes the conversion of long‐chain acyl groups into pimeloyl thioester, initiating biotin synthesis. The overexpression of EmBioE disrupts lipid metabolic homeostasis, requiring repressor BioL to maintain a balance between long‐chain fatty acids and biotin synthesis.

Immunomodulatory Hydrogel Coating with SeNPs and Lithium Silicate Synergistically Promotes Osseointegration and Prevents Infection on Titanium Implants

This study introduces a multifunctional hydrogel coating (Lap‐CMCSMA/GelMA@SeNPs) that scavenges ROS, modulates immune responses, and shows strong antibacterial activity. It effectively restores the peri‐implant microenvironment. The coating exhibits excellent biocompatibility and promotes osteogenic differentiation.

Targeted 2‐Deoxy‐D‐Ribose Delivery by Biomimetic Nanoplatform Activates EGFR for Accelerated Heart Valve Endothelialization

This study develops a biomimetic nanoplatform using erythrocyte membrane‐camouflaged, CD144 antibody‐functionalized nanoparticles to deliver 2‐deoxy‐D‐ribose (2dDR). This system promotes heart valve endothelialization by enhancing endothelial cell migration and proliferation via EGFR activation, while improving hemocompatibility.

An underactuated mechanical hand prosthesys by IFToMM ITALY

This paper describes a mechanical underactuated hand, whose design is under patenting. The proposed hand can be used as robot grasping end-effector and, mainly, as a human prosthesis. The proposed underactuated mechanism is based on an adaptive scheme, hence it permits to move five fingers with only one actuator.
