Mentor inflatable penile prosthesis: A reliable mechanical device

Urology, 1986
Forty-six patients have undergone implantation of a penile prosthesis using the Mentor inflatable device. All patients are at least six months postimplantation, with the average follow-up being twenty-one months. Six patients have required reoperation due to technical problems, but there have been no mechanical failures.

Mechanical and systems approach facilitating facial prosthesis production

The Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry, 1979
A method of facilitating facial prosthesis production using specially designed equipment and a color notation record has been described. Application to facial and auricular prosthesis production has been discussed. Advantages in time saved and staff utilization have been realized through the use of this approach.

[Mechanical-dynamic properties of prosthesis plastics].

Deutsche zahnarztliche Zeitschrift, 1975
Comparative studies on the mechanic and molecular properties of heat- and self-curing polymers (PMMA) showed the following results: 1. The glass-transition temperature of heat- and self-curing polymers clearly shows measurable differences also as a function of their storage conditions.

Mechanism for human knee joint prosthesis

2022
The human knee can be considered a simple hinge joint but a more detailed analysis will show that real knee joints have significantly complex kinematics. The complex movement of knee joints is determined by unique shape of bones, especially the surfaces shape of the femur end and the beginning of the tibia.

[Mechanical complications of total shoulder inverted prosthesis].

Revue de chirurgie orthopedique et reparatrice de l'appareil moteur, 2002
Our series of inverted prosthesis included 5 patients with a mean age of 73 +/- 6 years. In 4 cases, the implant was performed as a surgical revision. The follow up was 81 +/- 15 months. Three shoulders were pain free whereas two caused a dull pain after a free interval due to mechanical complications.
