Principles of research of soil ped deformation at interaction with machine working element

open access: yesСельскохозяйственные машины и технологии, 2016
Working elements of machines constantly or pulsewise interact with some of objects in raw materials with a difficult configuration (a root or tuber crops, vegetables, fruit, grain, soil peds) when performing technological operations in agricultural ...

Ingarden mechanical systems with special external forces

open access: yesAnalele Stiintifice ale Universitatii Ovidius Constanta: Seria Matematica, 2015
In the present paper we study a remarcable particular case of Finslerian mechanical system, called Ingarden mechanical system. This is defined by a 4-uple ∑IFⁿ = (M, F2, N, Fe) where M is the configuration space, Fn = (M, F, (x, y)) = (M, α, (x, y) + β ...

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Mechanical end joint system for structural column elements [PDF]

open access: yes, 1982
A mechanical end joint system, useful for the transverse connection of strut elements to a common node, comprises a node joint half with a semicircular tongue and groove, and a strut joint half with a semicircular tongue and groove.

Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Research on Spatial Developable Mechanism Considering Revolute Clearance Joints with Irregular Rough Surfaces

open access: yesActuators
Due to assembling, manufacturing errors, and wear, irregular rough surfaces inevitably exist in joints, which will increase the contact stiffness nonlinearity at the joint of the spatial developable mechanism, and the traditional contact force model is ...
