How Asian slum emissions impact local microclimates in polluted air masses

open access: yesAtmospheric Science Letters, Volume 23, Issue 12, December 2022., 2022
Cook stove emissions over urban sprawl in South India and expected microphysical implications. Combustion‐mediated soot and black carbon from biomass burning in shantytowns modulate the local cloud cover. Abstract Urban sprawl comprising densely populated slums over South Asian cities yields copious amounts of soot and black carbon from archaic cooking

Engineering Extracellular Vesicles Derived from 3D Cultivation of BMSCs Enriched with HGF Ameliorate Sepsis‐Induced Lung Epithelial Barrier Damage

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
3D culture of MSCs upregulates gene expression of matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs), growth factors (GFs), and increases the production of extracellular vesicles (EVs). Proteomic analysis reveals 642 upregulated proteins in 3D‐EVs, including HGF. These 3D‐EVs, enriched with HGF, protect lung epithelial cells from apoptosis and barrier damage in septic ...

Injectable and Sprayable Thermoresponsive Hydrogel with Fouling‐Resistance as an Effective Barrier to Prevent Postoperative Cardiac Adhesions

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Postoperative cardiac adhesions lead to numerous difficulties in reoperation procedures. Here, a thermo‐responsive in situ formed hydrogel is shown to can reliably cover the wounds after a convenient spraying or injection and significantly reduce adhesion formation in primary and recurrent cardiac injury adhesion models.

Relationships between the duration of mechanical ventilation and its related factors in infants with respiratory distress syndrome in NICU

open access: yesحیات, 2016
Background & Aim: Although mechanical ventilation is a life-saving intervention for many infants with respiratory distress syndrome, it carries potential complications. One of these complications is prolonged duration of mechanical ventilation. More than
