Colloidal gels, where nanoscale particles aggregate into an elastic yet fragile network, are at the heart of materials that combine specific optical, electrical and mechanical properties. Tailoring the viscoelastic features of colloidal gels in real-time

Steady state entanglement in the mechanical vibrations of two dielectric membranes
We consider two dielectric membranes suspended inside a Fabry-Perot-cavity, which are cooled to a steady state via a drive by suitable classical lasers. We show that the vibrations of the membranes can be entangled in this steady state.

Modelling and simulations of reactor neutron noise induced by mechanical vibrations
Mechanical vibrations of core internals are among the main perturbations that induce oscillations in the neutron flux field, also known as neutron noise. In this work, different simulation models for the study of the influence of the mechanical vibrations ...

Aerodynamic Characteristics of a Z-Shaped Folding Wing
Z-shaped folding wings have the potential to enhance the flight performance of an aircraft, contingent upon its mission requirements. However, the current scope of research on unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) with Z-shaped folding wings primarily focuses ...

Exploring Fatigue Effects on Performance Variation of Intensive Brain–Computer Interface Practice
Motor imagery (MI) is an endogenous mental process and is commonly used as an electroencephalogram (EEG)-based brain–computer interface (BCI) strategy. Previous studies of P300 and MI-based (without online feedback) BCI have shown that mental states like

Mathematical Analysis of Two Phase Saturated Nanofluid Influenced by Magnetic Field Gradient
Nanofluids are composed of nano-sized particles dispersed in a carrier liquid. The present investigation’s aim is to examine theoretically the magneto-thermomechanical coupling phenomena of a heated nanofluid on a stretched surface in the presence of ...

Grey-box state-space identification of nonlinear mechanical vibrations [PDF]
The present paper deals with the identification of nonlinear mechanical vibrations. A grey-box, or semi-physical, nonlinear state-space representation is introduced, expressing the nonlinear basis functions using a limited number of measured output ...
