Characterization of Wave Dispersion in Viscoelastic Cellular Assemblies by Doublet Mechanics

Chinese Physics Letters, 2009
Using the Voigt model, we analyze wave propagation in viscoelastic granular media with a monatomic lattice, planar simple cubic package and cubical—tetrahedral assembly within the context of doublet mechanics. Microstrains of elongation between the doublet particles are considered in the models.

Parametric electro‐mechanical dispersive behaviors of guided waves in the functionally graded piezoelectric annular plate

ZAMM - Journal of Applied Mathematics and Mechanics / Zeitschrift für Angewandte Mathematik und Mechanik, 2022
AbstractThis paper investigates the propagation characteristics of guided waves in functionally graded annular plates considering the electro‐mechanical coupling. In the orthogonal circular curvilinear coordinate system, the elastodynamic wave equation of guided waves is derived for the functional graded piezoelectric annular plate.

Excitation mechanisms and dispersion characteristics of guided waves in multilayered cylindrical solid media

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 2012
This paper first reviews a method of simulating the propagation characteristics of guided waves in multilayered coaxial cylindrical elastic solid media. Secondly, this method is used to investigate the properties of the guided waves for the ultrasonic long-range non-destructive evaluation techniques for rockbolts.

Dispersion Analysis of Wave Propagation in Cubic–Tetrahedral Assembly by Doublet Mechanics

Chinese Physics Letters, 2004
Based on elongation and shear microstrains between the doublet particles, we present the dynamic scaling equations of plane wave propagation in a cubic–tetrahedral assembly (lattice type H4) in accordance with the formalism of doublet mechanics (DM).

Quantifying viscoelasticity of boundary sensitive tissues using mechanical wave dispersion ultrasound vibrometry

The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 2012
The cardiovascular diseases such as atherosclerosis, coronary artery disease, hypertension and diastolic dysfunction have been associated with arterial stiffening and decreased ventricular compliance. Noninvasive techniques capable of quantifying elasticity and viscosity of cardiovascular tissues could facilitate early diagnosis and improve treatment ...

Mechanical normal dispersive 𝒩ℒℋ𝒮 shock waves of microfluidics in shallow model

Modern Physics Letters B
In this paper, we obtain normal dispersive [Formula: see text] shock waves for [Formula: see text] dam-break intensity by the nonlinear heat system. Then, we obtain super-fluid normal dispersive [Formula: see text] shock waves for [Formula: see text] dam-break microfluidics. Finally, we illustrate thermonormal [Formula: see text] pressure of [Formula:

Rheometrical aspects of the viscoelastic dispersion of shear waves in gel-like mechanical networks

Journal of Non-Newtonian Fluid Mechanics, 1998
A modified form of the Gross-Marvin ladder model is used to simulate gelation processes in which \(\alpha\), the viscoelastic stress relaxation exponent in the gel equation, can be varied in the range ...

The inversion problem in wave mechanics and dispersion relations

Nuclear Physics, 1958
Abstract The analytical properties of the eigensolutions of a wave equation as function of the energy, considered as a complex variable, serve to give a new derivation of the so called Gel'fand and Levitan integral equation which determines the interaction when the spectral function is known. This method allows an immediate extension to the Dirac and

Mechanisms of shock wave dispersion and attenuation in weakly ionized cold discharge plasmas

9th International Space Planes and Hypersonic Systems and Technologies Conference, 1999
Both mechanism of shock wave filamentary discharge interaction, and shock wave propagation through transverse temperature non-uniform discharge region are shown to describe available experimental data for shock acceleration and diffusion. A criterion for stable filament formation is obtained for high current discharge giving filament parameters that ...
