Modelisation and optimisation of a mechatronic system [PDF]

open access: yes
The objective of this Master Project is the modelisation, simulation and optimisation of a mechatronic system with Matlab/Simulink. The mechatronic system comprises the following parts: three-phase Brushless DC motor, driving electronics and mechanics ...

Single human fingertip mechanoreceptive afferents simultaneously encode multidimensional aspects of touch

open access: yesThe Journal of Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract figure legend Mechanoreceptors in the fingertip skin allow us to explore objects and to feel a vast range of textures. We recorded responses from individual low‐threshold mechanoreceptive afferents in humans while dynamic stimuli were swept across their receptive fields, systematically varying force, velocity and spatial period.

Observations on the Burrow Structures and Larval Behavior of Ephoron shigae (Takahashi, 1924) (Ephemeroptera: Polymitarcyidae) in River Sediments

open access: yesInternational Review of Hydrobiology, Volume 111, Issue 2, December 2026.
ABSTRACT The larvae of the mayfly Ephoron shigae (Takahashi, 1924) (Ephemeroptera: Polymitarcyidae) inhabit distinctive U‐shaped burrows in river and lake sediments, yet their ecology remains poorly documented. Using newly developed mechatronic technology, we obtained continuous observations that revealed new aspects of larval behavior.

Smart selective navigator (SSN): enhancing urban winter road maintenance through optimized arc routing with hard turn restrictions

open access: yesInternational Transactions in Operational Research, Volume 33, Issue 5, Page 3580-3597, September 2026.
Abstract This paper introduces a novel heuristic method, the smart selective navigator (SSN), for addressing arc routing problems (ARPs) with a focus on integrating hard turn restrictions in urban winter operations. Addressing a significant gap in existing ARP methodologies, SSN seamlessly incorporates common side constraints, such as vehicle ...

Promoted Current Injection in GaInN/GaN Multi‐Quantum Nanowire‐Based LEDs Coated With AZO Using Atomic Layer Deposition

open access: yesNanophotonics, Volume 15, Issue 13, 13 July 2026.
Conformal Al‐doped ZnO (AZO) electrodes deposited by atomic layer deposition (ALD) overcome current‐injection limitations in coaxial GaInN/GaN nanowire LEDs. Uniform electrode coverage across nanowire sidewalls and bottom regions promotes efficient carrier injection and radiative recombination across multiple crystal facets, enhancing emission ...
