TiO2 as Trap Sensitizer for Enhanced Persistent Luminescence in ZnGa2O4:Cr3+ Nanoparticles

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
Interfacial engineering enables non‐optical charging enhancement in persistent phosphors. By coupling ZGO:Cr nanoparticles with TiO2 through a porous SiO2 interlayer, photogenerated carriers are efficiently transferred and stored in additional trapping states.

Purely Equatorial Lasing in Spherical Liquid Crystal Polymer Microlasers with Bipolar Refractive Index Profile

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
Spherical liquid crystal polymer microlasers with a bipolar configuration confine lasing to a single equatorial plane, allowing precise control over where the laser emission is generated. The anisotropic refractive index profile additionally lifts the energy degeneracy of azimuthal whispering gallery modes, which causes a characteristic splitting into ...

Photoactive and Ultrastable Silicon/Boron Doped Diamond Photoanodes Enable Longstanding Photoinduced Electrochemiluminescence

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
This study introduces a highly durable n‐Si/BDD photoanode for photoinduced electrochemiluminescence that entirely circumvents conventional interfacial passivation. By delivering a stable photovoltage under near‐infrared irradiation, the heterojunction facilitates low‐potential optical upconversion.

Basis‐Independent Geometric Phase Modulation in Circularly Birefringent Plasmonic Structures

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, EarlyView.
Here we introduce a plasmonic metasurface composed of spatially rotated chiral spiral unit cells designed to produce space‐variant circular retardance. This generates a geometric phase ramp equivalent to a blazed grating, leading to polarization dependent diffraction orders in momentum space.
