The cybercultural moment and the new media field [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
This article draws on Pierre Bourdieu’s field theory to understand the regenerative “belief in the new” in new media culture and web history. I begin by noting that discursive constructions of the web as disruptive, open, and participatory have emerged ...

The ubiquitin ligase RNF115 is required for the clearance of damaged lysosomes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Upon lysosomal rupture, an E3 ubiquitin ligase RNF115 translocates from the cytosol to the damaged lysosomal membrane. Moreover, RNF115 depletion impairs the clearance of damaged lysosomes, identifying it as a key regulator of lysosomal quality control.

Hipertekstualnost kao oblik digitalizacije teorije / Hypertextuality as a Form of Digitalization of Theory

open access: yesAM: Art + Media, 2012
The introduction of the notion of hypertextuality (as the key concept of the new media) into the fields of visual arts, film, fashion, photography, postdramatic theatre, dance and music has resulted in the formation of constructivist or soft art theory ...

Field theory of self-avoiding walks in random media

open access: yes, 1999
Based on the analogy with the quantum mechanics of a particle propagating in a {\em complex} potential, we develop a field-theoretical description of the statistical properties of a self-avoiding polymer chain in a random environment.

PARP inhibition and pharmacological ascorbate demonstrate synergy in castration‐resistant prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pharmacologic ascorbate (vitamin C) increases ROS, disrupts cellular metabolism, and induces DNA damage in CRPC cells. These effects sensitize tumors to PARP inhibition, producing synergistic growth suppression with olaparib in vitro and significantly delayed tumor progression in vivo. Pyruvate rescue confirms ROS‐dependent activity.

Postsocrealistički arhitektonski onirizam na primerima filmova i stripova Enkija Bilala / (Post)socrealistic Architectural Onirism in Examples of Bilal’s Films and Comic Strips

open access: yesAM: Art + Media, 2013
The aim of this paper is to analyze and explore the way the media have transformed film and comic strips by applying an interdisciplinary approach to three dystopian, phantasmagorical science-fiction movies by Enki Bilal: Bunker Palace Hotel (1989 ...

A tool-mediated cognitive apprenticeship approach for a computer engineering course [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
Teaching database engineers involves a variety of learning activities. A strong focus is on practical problems that go beyond the acquisition of knowledge. Skills and experience are equally important.

Statistical Theory for Incoherent Light Propagation in Nonlinear Media

open access: yes, 2001
A novel statistical approach based on the Wigner transform is proposed for the description of partially incoherent optical wave dynamics in nonlinear media.

Phenotypic and genotypic characterization of single circulating tumor cells in the follow‐up of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Single circulating tumor cells (sCTCs) from high‐grade serous ovarian cancer patients were enriched, imaged, and genomically profiled using WGA and NGS at different time points during treatment. sCTCs revealed enrichment of alterations in Chromosomes 2, 7, and 12 as well as persistent or emerging oncogenic CNAs, supporting sCTC identity.

Mathematical models for dispersive electromagnetic waves: an overview [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
In this work, we investigate mathematical models for electromagnetic wave propagation in dispersive isotropic media. We emphasize the link between physical requirements and mathematical properties of the models.
