Inter‐ and Intra‐Rater Reliability of Pre‐Resection Ligament Tension Assessment Using a Digital Tensioner in Imageless Robotic‐Assisted Total Knee Replacement

open access: yesOrthopaedic Surgery, EarlyView.
Pre‐resection ligament tension assessment using digital tensioners in robotic‐assisted TKA achieves excellent reliability (ICC > 0.90), minimizing variability between specialist and trainee surgeons and enabling objective, reproducible soft tissue balancing for improved surgical precision.

A multiligament, internal brace, coaptationless stifle reconstruction technique for feline stifle luxation

open access: yesVeterinary Surgery, EarlyView.
Abstract Objective To describe a novel, coaptationless surgical technique for the treatment of multiligament stifle injuries (MLSI). Study design Retrospective case series. Animals A total of 23 cats presenting with a rupture of two or more ligaments stabilizing the stifle.

Macroscopic comparison of open Metzenbaum and ultrasound‐guided fasciotomy techniques for surgical treatment of the hindlimb proximal suspensory ligament desmopathy in horses: A cadaveric anatomical study

open access: yesVeterinary Surgery, EarlyView.
Abstract Objective To macroscopically characterize and compare the open Metzenbaum (FOM) and ultrasound‐guided (FUG) plantar fasciotomy techniques for decompression of the hindlimb proximal suspensory ligament (PSL), and to determine whether either approach induces intraligamentous splitting (ILS). Study design Cadaveric experimental study.

Second‐Look Arthroscopy Revealing Cartilage Coverage Following Arthroscopic Synovectomy in Severe Hemophilic Arthropathy of the Knee: A Case Report

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 5, May 2026.
Arthroscopic findings during the initial surgery in a patient with advanced hemophilic knee arthropathy. Villous synovial proliferation with hemosiderin deposition and exposed subchondral bone were observed, along with pinpoint bleeding on the lateral tibial plateau. Synovectomy resulted in marked reduction of synovial tissue.

Sprains and Strains [PDF]

open access: yes, 1975
The management of sprains and strains is not difficult. A history of the mechanism of injury is invaluable in determining what structures might have been injured.

Robotic arm‐assisted total knee arthroplasty reduces postoperative inflammatory response and blood loss compared to manual total knee arthroplasty: A matched‐pairs analysis of 688 patients

open access: yesKnee Surgery, Sports Traumatology, Arthroscopy, Volume 34, Issue 5, Page 1691-1699, May 2026.
Abstract Purpose Robotic arm‐assisted total knee arthroplasty (raTKA) has demonstrated several advantages over manual TKA (mTKA), including enhanced early recovery. Reduced soft tissue trauma and avoidance of femoral intramedullary canal opening have been hypothesised to lower the systemic inflammatory response.

Comparable outcomes and early revision rates between restricted and unrestricted functional knee positioning in robotic‐assisted total knee arthroplasty for varus deformities ≥10°

open access: yesKnee Surgery, Sports Traumatology, Arthroscopy, Volume 34, Issue 5, Page 1682-1690, May 2026.
Abstract Purpose Functional knee positioning (FKPos) in total knee arthroplasty (TKA) optimises outcomes by balancing individual anatomical and soft tissue characteristics. Managing marked varus deformity presents challenges in achieving balance when tibial alignment is restricted to 3° of varus, necessitating either medial soft tissue release or ...

MRI features of an intra‐articular histiocytic sarcoma affecting the stifle joint in a dog

open access: yesVeterinary Record Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 2, May 2026.
Abstract A 13‐year‐old, spayed, female German shorthaired pointer was presented for investigation of a right pelvic limb lameness and associated marked stifle swelling. Magnetic resonance imaging revealed a mildly heterogeneous, T2‐weighted hyperintense and T1‐weighted homogeneously hypointense, contrast‐enhancing fine nodular mass arising from the ...
