Knee Medial Collateral Ligament Injuries
2015The medial collateral ligament (MCL) is a common site of injury in sports and so it is very important to have great knowledge of all the parts involved for prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation. MCL injury is more common in sports that require contact and male athletes are at greater risk [1, 2].

Deep Medial Collateral Ligament Tear during Knee Arthroscopy
The Journal of Knee Surgery, 2011We report herein deep medial collateral ligament (MCL) tear of the knee with application of valgus stress during arthroscopic partial medial meniscectomy. With symptomatic treatment only, the patient went on to heal this injury without incident and recovered in an expected fashion from arthroscopic surgery.

Medial Collateral Ligament Injuries of the Knee
Clinical Orthopaedics and Related Research, 1978Isolated MCL I and MCL II lesions evidence good recovery of integrity and function under non-operative modes of treatment. Isolated MCL III lesions may also be treated by non-operative management, but with the expectation of a slightly less successful result.

Isolated Medial Collateral Ligament Injuries in the Knee
Journal of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, 1995The management of ligament injuries in the knee has progressed significantly over the past two decades as a result of both laboratory and clinical studies that better define the healing capacity of these supporting structures. The intracapsular ligaments (the anterior and posterior cruciate ligaments) appear to have limited potential for spontaneous ...

Percutaneous medial collateral ligament release in arthroscopic medial meniscectomy in tight knees
Knee Surgery, Sports Traumatology, Arthroscopy, 2012AbstractPurposeVisualization and surgery of tears in the posterior medial meniscus are difficult in tight knees. Iatrogenic chondral lesions might cause serious morbidity, and residual tears may result in inadequate symptom relief. We evaluated the clinical and radiological results of superficial medial collateral ligament (MCL) release during ...
