RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN REDUCED OF MEDIAL LONGITUDINAL ARCH HEIGHT AND KNEE VALGUS [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Knee valgus during jump landing is considered to be one of the situations that may cause injury to the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL). Decreased muscle torque during hip abduction is also reported to be a causative factor for knee valgus, as is ...

PEAR1 Promotes Glucose Metabolism Reprogramming in Sepsis‐Associated Acute Lung Injury via AARS1‐Mediated HIF‐1α Lactylation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study revealed that a PEAR1/HIF‐1α/ glycolysis/lactate/H3K18la positive feedback loop in PMVECs that drives the development of S‐ALI. Mechanistically, PEAR1 mediates the binding of HIF‐1α to AARS1, leading to the lactylation of HIF‐1α, the primary lactylation site of which is K172.

Supporting the Medial Longitudinal Arch: a Comparison between Intrinsic and Extrinsic Musculature [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
Context: Much Research has been done to study what muscles best support the medial longitudinal arch (MLA). However these studies look at intrinsic or extrinsic muscles individually rather than comparing their effects at support of the MLA in a static ...

Stress Hyperglycemia Drives CD4+ T Cell PANoptosis and Postoperative Organ Injury via Monocyte‐Derived Succinate

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
High glucose is linked to reduced succinate dehydrogenase activity in CD14+ monocytes, accompanied by succinate accumulation and extracellular release. Extracellular succinate exacerbates mitochondrial ROS production and mtDNA release in CD4+ T cells. Cytosolic mtDNA then activates Z‐DNA binding protein 1 (ZBP1) and engages ZBP1‐associated inflammatory

Enhancing Near‐Room‐Temperature Thermoelectric Performance of n‐Type Mg3(Sb, Bi)2‐Based Materials via ZrB2 Heterointerface Engineering

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A conductive ZrB2 ceramic composite strategy was developed for Mg3(Sb, Bi)2 thermoelectrics to regulate carrier transport and phonon scattering through heterointerface engineering. The 1.0 wt.% ZrB2 composite achieved enhanced room‐temperature performance, with a power factor of 28.51 µW cm−1 K−2 and a peak ZT of 1.22 at 573 K.

The assessment of the effect of longitudinal arch support insole on plantar pressure distribution in subjects with flexible flatfoot

open access: yesطب جانباز, 2012
Background: The flatfoot might be caused complications and pain within upper joints and also change distribution of plantar foot pressure in flatfoot patients. One of the current treatments for this problem is longitudinal arch support insole which might

Discrete 2D Material Programming for 3D Shaping and Morphogenesis‐Inspired 4D Bioprinting

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Cell‐compatible discrete 2D material programming enables 2‐to‐3D shape transformation and morphogenesis‐inspired 4D bioprinting. By patterning cell‐supportive microdomains within a responsive hydrogel, the approach programs in‐plane growth to encode target metrics.

Abductor hallucis causing painful flat foot

open access: yesJournal of Orthopedics, Traumatology and Rehabilitation, 2014
We present a 10-year-old girl with a painful flat foot which surgery revealed an abnormally large abductor hallucis occupying medial longitudinal arch suspected to be the cause. Excision of the muscle relieved pain and discomfort.
