Symptomatic Anomalous Insertion of the Medial Meniscus
Arthroscopy: The Journal of Arthroscopic & Related Surgery, 2005We report a case of a young athlete with a symptomatic anomaly of the medial meniscus. An anomalous portion in conjunction with the anterior horn of the medial meniscus extended to the intercondylar notch of the femur through the surface of the anterior cruciate ligament.

Prosthetic replacement of the rabbit medial meniscus
Journal of Biomedical Materials Research, 1993AbstractImplants of polyurethane‐coated polyester (Dacron), polyurethane‐coated PTFE (Teflon), or uncoated PTFE were used to substitute the medial rabbit meniscus, and were observed over a 3‐month period. Joint mechanics were similar for sham‐operation, meniscectomy, or substitution with a coated implant.

Discoid Lateral Meniscus Associated With Anomalous Insertion of the Medial Meniscus
Clinical Orthopaedics and Related Research, 1995Discoid lateral meniscus in the knee joint is common. From July 1990 through September 1992, the authors performed arthroscopy on 534 symptomatic knee joints. Seventy-seven knees of 72 patients had discoid lateral meniscus. Of the 77 knees treated, 4 (5.5%) had discoid lateral meniscus associated with anomalous insertion of the anterior horn of the ...

Medial Meniscus Posterior Horn Avulsion
Journal of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, 2009Avulsion of the posterior horn of the medial meniscus can occur from acute trauma or chronic degeneration, leading to meniscus extrusion, articular cartilage loss, osteophyte formation, and medial joint space narrowing. With meniscus extrusion, the meniscus is unable to resist hoop stresses and cannot shield the adjacent articular cartilage from ...
