Arthroscopic Posterior Cruciate Ligament Reconstruction Using a Pedicled Semitendinosus Autograft Through a Trans‐Septal Approach: A Technical Note

open access: yesArthroscopy Techniques, EarlyView.
Abstract Isolated posterior cruciate ligament (PCL) ruptures are relatively uncommon among knee ligament injuries. Operative management is recommended for patients with grade III posterior knee joint laxity. The complex anatomy of the PCL, particularly its course and insertion on the femur and the tibia, makes its reconstruction technically challenging.

Ligament koji zaslužuje pozornost - medijalni patelofemoralni ligament [Ligament which deserves attention - medial patellofemoral ligament]. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
There has been increasing interest in investigating the medial patellofemoral ligament (MPFL) during the last fifteen years. This is due to the recognition of the MPFL as the primary static soft-tissue restraint to lateral patellar displacement and the ...

Medial Patellofemoral and Medial Patellotibial Ligament Reconstruction Using a Docked Rectus Femoris Graft

open access: yesArthroscopy Techniques, EarlyView.
Abstract Recurrent patellar instability may persist after isolated medial patellofemoral ligament reconstruction, particularly in cases with instability beyond early knee flexion. Recent evidence has emphasized the role of the medial patellotibial ligament as a secondary stabilizer contributing to patellofemoral stability at higher degrees of flexion ...

Rehabilitation and Return to Sport After Medial Patellofemoral Complex Reconstruction

open access: yesArthroscopy, Sports Medicine, and Rehabilitation, 2022
: The medial patellofemoral complex (MPFC) consists of the medial patellofemoral ligament and medial quadriceps tendon femoral ligament, which play a critical role stabilizing the patella against lateral translation.

Comparable outcome for autografts and allografts in primary medial patellofemoral ligament reconstruction for patellofemoral instability: systematic review and meta-analysis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2022
PURPOSE: This study updates the current evidence on the role of allografts versus autografts for medial patellofemoral ligament (MPFL) reconstruction in patients with patellofemoral instability.

Abduction and adduction malpositioned lateral radiographs cannot be used for proper assessment of the posterior tibial slope

open access: yesKnee Surgery, Sports Traumatology, Arthroscopy, EarlyView.
Abstract Purpose To compare medial posterior tibial slope (mPTS) measurements on abduction/adduction malpositioned versus properly positioned lateral knee radiographs within the same patients. We hypothesized that malpositioning would significantly alter mPTS values and potentially change surgical classification at the commonly used 12° threshold for ...

Medial Patellofemoral Ligament Reconstruction

open access: yesOrthopaedic Journal of Sports Medicine, 2017
Objectives: Recurrent patellofemoral dislocation is usually a multifactorial pathology. Different surgical techniques have been described according to the etiology of dislocation.

Early surgery, meniscal injury and physiologic contralateral knee extension deficit are associated with extension loss prior to anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction

open access: yesKnee Surgery, Sports Traumatology, Arthroscopy, EarlyView.
Abstract Purpose To identify factors associated with knee extension loss prior to anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction (ACLR). Methods Patients without concomitant ligament injuries who underwent primary ACLR at the Capio Artro Clinic, Stockholm, Sweden, between 1 January 2002 and 31 December 2023, were eligible for inclusion. The outcome of

Rectus femoris tendon morphometry and practical landmarks for harvesting: A cadaveric study

open access: yesKnee Surgery, Sports Traumatology, Arthroscopy, EarlyView.
Abstract Purpose To perform a qualitative and quantitative cadaveric analysis of the rectus femoris (RF) tendon to determine its suitability as a standalone autograft for knee ligament reconstruction and to identify consistent anatomical landmarks for safe and reproducible harvest.
