Medial Unicompartmental Knee Arthroplasty.
Instructional course lectures, 2019Unicompartmental knee arthroplasty (UKA) has substantial benefits, including lower perioperative morbidity and earlier recovery, compared with total knee arthroplasty. The traditionally strict indications for UKA have been challenged by studies that expanded the indications based on a diagnosis of anteromedial osteoarthritis of the knee and ...

Overstuffed medial compartment after mobile‐bearing unicompartmental knee arthroplasty
Knee Surgery, Sports Traumatology, Arthroscopy, 2010AbstractOverstuffing of the medial compartment in medial compartmental knee arthroplasty is a known pitfall. Lateral Unicompartmental Knee Arthroplasty Through a Medial Approach
Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery, 2008Unicompartmental knee arthroplasty of the medial compartment has excellent long-term clinical outcomes. Alignment Influences Wear in the Knee after Medial Unicompartmental Arthroplasty
Clinical Orthopaedics & Related Research, 2004Failure of a medial unicompartmental arthroplasty may be related to wear of the cartilage in the opposite compartment or to wear in the polyethylene tibial implant. Limb alignment influences both of these factors in the long term. Fifty-eight knees with medial unicompartmental arthroplasties in patients alive at least 10 years postoperatively were ...
