Placental Protein Release and Uptake From the Fetal Circulation in Healthy Term Pregnancies—A Human In Vivo Exploratory Study

open access: yesThe FASEB Journal, Volume 40, Issue 3, 15 February 2026.
Fetal‐placental communication was explored by comparing protein abundances in paired umbilical artery and vein samples, using the SomaLogic 5000‐plex platform. 766 proteins were identified as released by the placenta, largely supported by placental gene expression patterns reported in transcriptomic studies.

Construction of a Multitissue Cell Atlas Reveals Cell‐Type‐Specific Regulation of Molecular and Complex Phenotypes in Pigs

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 8, 9 February 2026.
This research conducts an in‐depth investigation of cell‐type‐specific regulatory mechanisms underlying molecular and complex phenotypes through integrative analysis of multitissue single‐nucleus RNA sequencing, bulk RNA‐seq, and genome‐wide association study (GWAS) data in pigs.

scPER: A Rigorous Computational Approach to Determine Cellular Subtypes in Tumors Aligned With Cancer Phenotypes From Total RNA Sequencing

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 8, 9 February 2026.
scPER presents an adversarial‐autoencoder framework that deconvolves bulk total RNA‐seq to quantify tumor‐microenvironment cell types and uncover phenotype‐linked subclusters. Across diverse benchmarks, scPER improves accuracy over existing tools.

Guanidinium Like‐Charge Ion Pairing and Oligoarginine Aggregation in Water by Nuclear Magnetic Resonance, Cryo‐Electron Microscopy, and Molecular Dynamics

open access: yesAggregate, Volume 7, Issue 2, February 2026.
This study shows that guanidinium cations weakly attract one another in water and form like‐charge contact ion pairs. From NMR, we determine the free energy of ion‐pair formation to be ≈${\approx }$ –0.5 kJ mol−1${\rm mol}^{-1}$, consistent with all‐atom MD simulations and DFT calculations.

Relationship between age and severity of cognitive impairment at diagnosis for early‐onset and late‐onset Alzheimer's disease: Comparison of LEADS and ADNI

open access: yesAlzheimer's &Dementia, Volume 22, Issue 2, February 2026.
INTRODUCTION Recent work has identified unique cognitive profiles for early‐onset Alzheimer's disease (EOAD) relative to late‐onset Alzheimer's disease (LOAD), however, examination has been limited in determining whether the association between age and cognitive severity at presentation also differs across conditions.
