Biopsy of lymph nodes at mediastinoscopy has been the method of diagnosis of tuberculosis in 14 patients; Mycobacterium tuberculosis was cultured from the nodes in nine cases, and in five there was histological evidence of the disease but cultural confirmation was lacking.

In 55 patients with second primary nonsmall‐cell lung cancer (NSCLC), repeated anatomical video‐assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS) resections—mostly segmentectomies—were safe and effective. Despite a higher rate of air leak and atrial fibrillation, morbidity and length of stay were similar to initial surgery.
