A Keratinocyte‐Mast Cell NF‐κB2/CXCL2/IL‐6 Amplification Loop Enhances Cutaneous Antifungal Defense Against C. albicans

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Mast cells (MCs), key innate immune sentinels at the host–environment interface, serve as primary responders to invading pathogens. However, their specific contribution to host defense against cutaneous Candida albicans (C. albicans) infection and their synergy with other immune and non‐immune cells remain poorly understood. Here, we show that

An Activity‐Dependent NEPAS–PTX3 Axis Links Neurovascular and Myelin Deficits to Cognitive Impairment

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An activity‐dependent pathway links prefrontal circuit hypoactivity to cognitive impairment. Reduced PVA–mPFC activity upregulates NEPAS, which suppresses PTX3 secretion, leading to impaired angiogenesis, myelin deficits, and memory decline. Rescue is achieved by NEPAS knockdown or chemogenetic circuit activation.

A Bioinspired Three‐Dimensional High‐Curvature Nano‐Interface Integrated Microfluidic Chip for Small Extracellular Vesicles Enrichment and Machine Learning‐Assisted Prostate Cancer Precision Diagnosis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A biotin‐modified artificial insertion peptide functionalized three‐dimensional high‐curvature‐TiO2 nano‐interface was engineered in a microfluidic chip to improve the isolation efficiency of small extracellular vesicles (sEVs). This chip balanced affinity, releasability, and extendibility, enabling high‐throughput recovery of sEVs for downstream ...

Small Extracellular Vesicles‐Derived Circ6718 Unlocks Stromal Remodeling and Serves as a Biomarker in Gastric Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
sEVs‐circ6718 serves as a promising serum biomarker for gastric cancer early diagnosis and prognosis, promoting malignant transformation in gastric cancer cells and GC‑MSC differentiation into CAFs. sEVs‑circ6718 holds potential as a biomarker for the early diagnosis and prognostic assessment of gastric cancer.

Cancer‐Associated Fibroblasts Promote Tumor Immunosuppression in Hepatocellular Carcinoma via the NNMT‐ANGPTL4 Axis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background & Aims: Cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) drive immunosuppression in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). However, their metabolic regulation remains poorly defined. We investigated the role of nicotinamide N‐methyltransferase (NNMT) in CAFs. Approach & Results: High NNMT expression in CAF tissues was confirmed by western blotting and

Rationale for Internet-Mediated Communities

CyberPsychology & Behavior, 2003
This article discusses the theoretical foundations of Internet-mediated communities (IMCs), i.e., groups of people who share interests and make use at some time of the same Internet tools (for instance, a web site-the special concern of this study) in order to exchange information about the shared interests.

Multimodal mediated communication

CHI '01 Extended Abstracts on Human Factors in Computing Systems, 2001
This paper concerns the Human-Human mediated communication field and more precisely the architecture of multimodal mediated systems. We describe the new problems revealed by this type of communication and propose a solution, which has been tested through a medical application.

Computer-Mediated Communication

IEEE Technology and Society Magazine, 1984
The use of computers in organizations is discussed in terms of its present and potential role in facilitating and mediating communication between people. This approach clarifies the impact that computers may have on the operation of organizations and on the individuals comprising them. Communication, which is essential to collaborative activities, must

Communication and mediation

Réseaux. The French journal of communication, 1994
Summary: Throughout the Cold War two types of radio stations broadcast to the Communist countries: 'sovereign' radio (e.g. BBC, RFI) and 'substitute' radio (e.g. Radio Free Europe, Radio Liberty). They developed, from the same sources of information, two distinct styles of production and relations with listeners.
