Exosome mediated differentiation of megakaryocytes: a study on TLR mediated effects

Journal of Thrombosis and Thrombolysis, 2019
Megakaryocytes are large polyploid bone marrow cells whose function is to produce circulatory platelets. Megakaryocytes are also known to release extracellular vesicles (EVs) of varying sizes. Toll like receptors (TLRs), present on the sentinel cells are essential components of the innate immune response, these receptors are also expressed by platelets

Studies in micelle-mediated Pd nucleation

Chemical Communications, 2010
Manipulation of metal atom nucleation and particle growth in solution is virtually unexplored, but highly sought after for the creation of functional materials and rational design of supramolecular structures. We therefore decided to explore this area through the self-assembly of block copolymer micelles and Pd atoms without using a chemical reduction ...

Studies on the Mechanism of Macrophage-Mediated Cytotoxicity

International Archives of Allergy and Immunology, 1975
MCF is a product of sensitized T lymphocytes, which is actively synthesized and secreted when lymphocytes are incubated with the appropriate target cells. The process of macrophage activation leading to cytotoxicity needs a period of 24 h. Macrophage-mediated cytotoxicity is restricted to the specific target cell.

Video mediated recruitment for online studies

CHI '12 Extended Abstracts on Human Factors in Computing Systems, 2012
More than ever, researchers are turning to the internet as a means to conduct HCI studies. Despite the promise of a worldwide audience, recruiting participants can still be a difficult task. In this video we discuss and illustrate that videos - through their sharable and entertaining nature - can greatly assist the recruitment process.

Further studies on platelet-mediated neurotoxicity

Brain Research, 1992
The mechanism of ischemic neuronal injury is not fully resolved. The present view is that vascular occlusion per se does not fully account for the extent of neurological dysfunction. We hypothesized that platelet secretory products might contribute to ischemic neuronal injury in the central nervous system (CNS) (Joseph et al., Stroke, 20 (1989) 38-44 ...

Developmental Studies of Mediated Memory

1970
Publisher Summary This chapter summarizes five developmental studies of mediational and, especially, production deficiencies with respect to children's performance on memory tasks. Some generalizations about the nature and development of mediational activity and related topics have been proposed and recent studies dealing with the development of ...

Mediating the environment: a case study approach

Child: Care, Health and Development, 1985
Summary Two case studies are presented as a means of examining aspects of mediating the environment for young blind children. Following the child's history, clinical observations are offered on each case. A general discussion highlights the salient requirements of mediation with children born blind.
