Characterization of factors affecting plant regeneration frequency of Medicago lupulina L.

Euphytica, 1995
Different hormones, length of hormone pretreatment, and developmental status of plants were found to influence the shoot and root differentiation frequencies from immature inflorescence explants of Medicago lupulina L., a diploid autogamous species. Explants of immature inflorescence pretreated with phytohormones for a short period (10 min −6 h) were ...

Reproductive schedule of Medicago lupulina (Leguminosae) in a patchy environment

Canadian Journal of Botany, 1985
Reproductive schedules for cohorts of Medicago lupulina seedlings were compared in adjacent habitats, distinguished by the presence or absence of a ground cover of mosses. The objective of the study was to determine how the reproductive schedule of a single taxon changes in a patchy environment (i.e., where risk of death changes with habitat type ...

The Black Medick (Medicago lupulina L.) extraction Cytotoxic activity

Research Journal of Pharmacy and Technology
The effect of theblack medick (Medicago lupulina L.) herbextraction cytotoxic activity of healthy donors and cancer patients’ lymphocytes was studied. It was established that the extraction of M. lupulina has a direct cytotoxic effect on tumor cells and activates the antitumor activity of natural killers by interleukin – 2up-regulation.

The Dynamics of Seed Bank Size and Seed State of Medicago Lupulina

The Journal of Ecology, 1982
SUMMARY (1) The annual dynamics of seed bank size and seed state were recorded for Medicago lupulina (black medick) in an abandoned pasture in southern Ontario, Canada. (2) The seed bank density of Medicago lupulina was relatively small (600-2000 seeds m-2) compared with those reported for other pasture species (3700-55 000 m-2), but roughly the same ...

Optimization of Metabolite Profiling for Black Medick (Medicago lupulina) and Peas (Pisum sativum)

Applied Biochemistry and Microbiology, 2018
Metabolic profiling is a key approach in current basic and applied research in biology. Comparative analysis of different metabolite extraction methods for pea (P. sativum) and black medick (M. lupulina) made it possible to find the optimal conditions for metabolite extraction and subsequent detection by gas chromatography coupled with mass ...

Clopyralid Dose Response for Two Black Medic (Medicago lupulina) Growth Stages

Weed Technology, 2016
Black medic is a troublesome weed in commercial strawberry fields in Florida. It emerges during crop establishment from the planting holes punched in plastic mulches that are installed on raised beds. Clopyralid is registered for posttransplant applications at 140 to 280 g ae ha−1but growers typically report suppression, not control.

Characterization of a copper-resistant symbiotic bacterium isolated from Medicago lupulina growing in mine tailings

Bioresource Technology, 2011
A root nodule bacterium, Sinorhizobium meliloti CCNWSX0020, resistant to 1.4 mM Cu2+ was isolated from Medicago lupulina growing in mine tailings. In medium supplied with copper, this bacterium showed cell deformation and aggregation due to precipitation of copper on the cell surface.
