The Space Medicine Exploration Medical Condition List [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Exploration Medical Capability (ExMC) is an element of NASA s Human Research Program (HRP). ExMC's goal is to address the risk of the "Inability to Adequately Recognize or Treat an Ill or Injured Crewmember." This poster highlights the approach ExMC has ...

DC‐magnetometry Analytical Tool Driven by Spin Ordering Phenomena for Sensing Chemical Interactions at the Surface of Nanomaterials

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The adsorption of AsV on akaganeite nanorods was found to provide a magnetic signature. A change in the surface spin order gave rise to a second peak in the zero‐field cooled curve. AsIII adsorption does not provide any change in the magnetic behavior of the sorbent.

Medical System Concept of Operations for Mars Exploration Mission-11: Exploration Medical Capability (ExMC) Element - Human Research Program [PDF]

open access: yes
NASAs exploration missions to Mars will have durations of 2-3 years and will take humans farther away from Earth than ever before. This will result in a paradigm shift for mission planning, spacecraft design, human systems integration, and in-flight ...

Heterogeneous Wettability‐Based Construction of Two‐Phase Interfaces for Underwater Reversible Adhesion

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The design employs heterogeneous wettability surfaces that construct stable oil‐water interfaces to achieve robust and rapid reversible adhesion. Linear enhancement of adhesion strength is realized through multi‐interface patterning. This adhesive enables rapid on‐demand detachment within five seconds via voltage‐induced electrolysis, offering a level ...

Prioritizing Medical Resources for Exploration Missions [PDF]

open access: yes
Long duration missions beyond low Earth orbit introduce new constraints to the medical system. Factors such as the inability to evacuate to Earth in a timely manner, communication delay, limitations in available medical equipment, and the clinical ...

Customizing Tactile Sensors via Machine Learning‐Driven Inverse Design

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Replicating the sophisticated sense of touch in artificial systems requires tactile sensors with precisely tailored properties. However, manually navigating the complex microstructure‐property relationship results in inefficient and suboptimal designs.
