Higher prearthritic activity is associated with higher long‐term activity after medial unicompartmental knee arthroplasty

open access: yesKnee Surgery, Sports Traumatology, Arthroscopy, EarlyView.
Abstract Purpose To evaluate long‐term sport participation after medial unicompartmental knee arthroplasty and determine whether recalled prearthritic activity was associated with activity at final follow‐up. Methods This retrospective study included 76 knees in 70 patients evaluated at a mean follow‐up of 116.3 ± 31.9 months. The Tegner Activity Scale

Transoral Ultrasound in the Diagnostic Workup of Peritonsillar Abscess—A Randomized Clinical Trial

open access: yesThe Laryngoscope, EarlyView.
Peritonsillar abscess frequently mimics peritonsillar cellulitis, exposing many patients to unnecessary and often painful blind needle aspirations. In this multicenter randomized clinical trial of 95 patients, adding transoral ultrasound to standard examination reduced needle aspiration attempts by nearly one third.

Reference Equations for Peak Nasal Inspiratory and Expiratory Flow: A Cross‐Sectional Study

open access: yesThe Laryngoscope, EarlyView.
This study developed reference equations for peak nasal inspiratory flow (PNIF) and peak nasal expiratory flow (PNEF) in clinically healthy adults using sex, height, and weight. PNIF demonstrated lower residual variability and more stable model performance than PNEF, supporting its potential as a complementary tool for individualized interpretation of ...
