Polyoxazoline‐Based Nanovaccine Synergizes with Tumor‐Associated Macrophage Targeting and Anti‐PD‐1 Immunotherapy against Solid Tumors

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 10, Issue 25, September 5, 2023., 2023
Remodeling of a tumor immunosuppressive microenvironment via a polyoxazoline‐poly(lactic‐co‐glycolic) acid nanovaccine combined with modulators of αCSF‐1R and αPD‐1 controls tumor growth and prolongs survival of three murine solid tumor models (CT26, MC38, and B16F10), thus constituting a promising approach to improve cancer immunotherapy.

Patient‐centered digital biomarkers for allergic respiratory diseases and asthma: The ARIA‐EAACI approach – ARIA‐EAACI Task Force Report

open access: yesAllergy, Volume 78, Issue 7, Page 1758-1776, July 2023., 2023
Abstract Biomarkers for the diagnosis, treatment and follow‐up of patients with rhinitis and/or asthma are urgently needed. Although some biologic biomarkers exist in specialist care for asthma, they cannot be largely used in primary care. Rhinitis associated with asthma is distinct from rhinitis alone: The ARIA‐MeDALL hypothesis

open access: yesAllergy, Volume 78, Issue 5, Page 1169-1203, May 2023., 2023
Abstract Asthma, rhinitis, and atopic dermatitis (AD) are interrelated clinical phenotypes that partly overlap in the human interactome. The concept of “one‐airway‐one‐disease,” coined over 20 years ago, is a simplistic approach of the links between upper‐ and lower‐airway allergic diseases. With new data, it is time to reassess the concept.

Phenotype of BTK‐lacking myeloid cells during prolonged COVID‐19 and upon convalescent plasma

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Haematology, Volume 110, Issue 2, Page 209-212, February 2023., 2023
Abstract XLA patient with 7‐month course of COVID‐19 with persistent plasma SARS‐CoV‐2 load revealed a sustained non‐inflammatory profile of myeloid cells in association with contained severity of disease, arguing in favor of the use of BTK inhibitors in SARS‐COV‐2 infection.

Cadherin‐3 is a novel oncogenic biomarker with prognostic value in glioblastoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, Volume 16, Issue 14, Page 2611-2631, July 2022., 2022
Here, we identified Cadherin‐3 (CDH3) as a novel oncogene in glioblastoma (GBM). CDH3 affected distinct cancer hallmarks in vitro and was related to increased tumor growth and shorter survival in vivo. Clinically, CDH3 correlated with cancer‐related signatures and was overexpressed in a subset of patients with poor prognosis, thus suggesting that CDH3 ...

Medicina geral e familiar: ontem, hoje e amanhã
