Foraging Observations: Novel Trophic Interactions Between the Andean Gull (Chroicocephalus serrranus) and Endangered Vertebrates of Lake Titicaca

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 3, March 2026.
We show that the Andean gull predates on both the Titicaca Grebe and the Titicaca Giant Frog. Both these species are critically endangered, and it was unknown that they had natural predators before this. ABSTRACT We record two new predation events and one new kleptoparasitic Andean Gull (Chroicocephalus serranus) behavior, interactions that directly ...

Response to therapy and prognosis according to molecular characterization in CALR‐mutated essential thrombocythemia

open access: yesHemaSphere, Volume 10, Issue 3, March 2026.
Abstract Response to cytoreductive therapy according to CALR mutation type, CALR variant allele frequency (VAF), and additional mutations has not been previously studied in essential thrombocythemia (ET). The impact of the molecular profile on treatment response and the main clinical outcomes was analyzed in 557 CALR ET patients (CALR Type 1, n = 339 ...

Cellular Immune Response Induced by mRNA Vaccines Against SARS‐CoV‐2

open access: yesImmunity, Inflammation and Disease, Volume 14, Issue 3, March 2026.
SARS‐CoV‐2 vaccine induces cellular immune response. T‐cells play a protective role for COVID‐19. ABSTRACT The disease caused by SARS‐CoV‐2 is known as COVID‐19, and it can range from mild symptoms to severe clinical manifestations, including respiratory failure, pneumonia, and organ failure. Since its emergence in 2019, more than 7 million deaths have

An Exploratory Study on the Pathogenic Role of Faecal Extracellular Vesicles in Metabolic Dysfunction‐Associated Steatotic Liver Disease Progression and in Drug‐Induced Liver Injury

open access: yesJournal of Extracellular Vesicles, Volume 15, Issue 3, March 2026.
Fecal extracellular vesicles (fEVs) from DILI patients have a distinct bacterial profile. This study provides evidence that bacterial EVs enter the bloodstream. DILI and MASLD F≥3 fEVs increase the pro‐inflammatory response and hepatocyte steatosis. FEVs from DILI patients enhance the hepatotoxic potential of diclofenac.
