Eutectic growth in as-cast medium manganese steel
Materials Science and Engineering: A, 2002Abstract Eutectic growth in as-cast medium manganese steel modified by a Mg–Ce–Ti–Si compound was investigated by means of transmission electron microscopy (TEM), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and electron probe microanalysis (EPMA). Results show that the eutectic ((Fe, Mn) 3 C and austenite) is formed between austenite dendrites at the end of ...

Microstructure and mechanical properties of medium manganese steel in intercritical annealing
Materials Science and Technology, 2023A new type of cold-rolled medium manganese steel was investigated. The test steel was treated by Q&P process. With the increase in annealing temperature, the grain size gradually increases, the carbides dissolve progressively and the fine lath grains transform into massive or equiaxed grains.

Cementite evolution in medium manganese twinning-induced plasticity steels
Materialia, 2018Abstract The precipitation and dissolution of cementite in austenitic medium Mn high C steels capable of deformation-induced twinning were studied based on the associated length changes. In continuous dilatometry heating cycles, the net contraction associated with the precipitation of cementite resulted in a decrease in the apparent coefficient of ...

Solid State Phase Transformations in Medium Manganese Steels
2018Steels are still, and probably will remain in future, the primary choice for applications as structural materials. This is not only because of the reasonable ratios of properties over production costs, but also owing to the versatile properties realisable via variety of microstructures achieved by controlling the solid-state phase transformations ...

Welding Processing of Medium-Manganese Austenitic Steels for Cryogenic Applications
HTM Journal of Heat Treatment and MaterialsAbstract For several years, the significance of gaseous energy sources (e. g. liquified natural gas and hydrogen) has been increasing worldwide due to environmental and climate policy requirements. Storage and transportation of the liquids occur under cryogenic conditions.

Kinetics of medium-manganese steel prepared by solid-state decarburisation
Ironmaking & Steelmaking: Processes, Products and ApplicationsThis paper analyses solid-state decarburisation kinetics with the aim to clarify the transition rule of restrictive links in the process of decarburisation, providing a theoretical basis for regulating the solid-state-decarburisation rate.
