Massive Recurrent Bleeding From Parastomal Caput Medusae
ABSTRACT Ectopic variceal bleeding is a rare but life‐threatening complication of portal hypertension. For severe parastomal variceal hemorrhage unresponsive to conservative therapy, endovascular embolization is a safe, minimally invasive, repeatable, and effective life‐saving alternative, particularly in patients with portal hypertension and hepatic ...

Abstract Hydromedusae are often overlooked in pelagic trophic ecology compared to large scyphozoans. We investigated the diet, prey selectivity, ingestion rates, digestion times, and predation impacts of the native Liriope tetraphylla and non‐indigenous species Cnidostoma fallax and Moerisia inkermanica in a subtropical estuary of the southwestern ...

High‐Value Targeted Conversion of Copper Slag as LiFePO4 Material for Lithium‐Ion Batteries
ABSTRACT The massive stockpiling of copper slag (CS) presents severe environmental and resource‐waste challenges. Existing strategies for CS valorization typically yield low‐value‐added products. Herein, we propose an innovative hierarchical regulation approach to transform CS into high‐performance LiFePO4 (LFP) cathode materials.

El estuario del Plata: donde el río se encuentra con el mar [PDF]
The Rio de la Plata estuary is one of the largest estuarine environments of South America. It is characterized by a two-layer vertical salinity distribution and the existence of water masses convergence zones (fronts).

Evolutionary mobility and genetic dynamics of MORFFO genes: shuttling among ancient plant lineages
Summary Plastid genomes (plastomes) of land plants are characterized by their architectural and genic content stability. However, fern plastomes exhibit unexpected dynamism, characterized by the presence of mobile protein‐coding genes (CDS) – Mobile Open Reading Frames in Fern Organelles (MORFFOs). We investigate the evolutionary dynamics of MORFFOs in

Do auditory deviants evoke cortical state changes under anaesthesia? A proof‐of‐concept study
Abstract Context‐dependent sensory processing within the predictive coding framework relies on detecting mismatches between incoming stimuli and internal predictive models. Sensory deviants elicit prediction errors, seen as enhanced neural responses, that update these models and influence attention and behaviour.

We report the association between the jellyfish Lychnorhiza lucerna and the crab Cyrtograpsus affinis. Numerous examples of associations between medusae and brachyurans have been observed in the field and noted in the literature.
