Quantum-corrected black hole thermodynamics to all orders in the Planck length

open access: yes, 2007
We investigate the effects to all orders in the Planck length from a generalized un- certainty principle (GUP) on black holes thermodynamics. We calculate the corrected Hawking temperature, entropy, and examine in details the Hawking evaporation process.

Do emotions drive the link between winning and satisfaction with democracy? Leveraging the Super Bowl, the World Cup, and The Lion King

open access: yesPolitical Psychology, Volume 47, Issue 2, April 2026.
Abstract Electoral winners are more satisfied with democracy than losers, but there is debate over whether this is due to emotions or policy considerations. In two quasi‐experiments, we exploit the outcomes of major football games, which exogenously separated people into winning and losing groups.

Concept for improved vacuum pressure measuring device [PDF]

open access: yes, 1969
To measure vacuum pressures in the range of 5 times 10 to the minus 7 to 5 times 10 to the minus 16, a semiconductor resistor composed of sintered zinc oxide is used.

Entropy Corrections for Schwarzschild and Reissner-Nordstr\"om Black Holes

open access: yes, 2004
Schwarzschild black hole being thermodynamically unstable, corrections to its entropy due to small thermal fluctuations cannot be computed. However, a thermodynamically stable Schwarzschild solution can be obtained within a cavity of any finite radius by

Current View on the Molecular Mechanisms Underlying Fibrin(ogen)-Dependent Inflammation.

open access: yesThrombosis and Haemostasis, 2022
Numerous studies have revealed the involvement of fibrinogen in the inflammatory response. To explain the molecular mechanisms underlying fibrinogen-dependent inflammation, two bridging mechanisms have been proposed in which fibrin(ogen) bridges ...

Cytomegalovirus‐Based Viral Vectors Elicit Robust Systemic and Tissue‐Resident Immune Response Against SARS‐CoV‐2 Antigens

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Immunology, Volume 56, Issue 2, February 2026.
We developed murine CMV‐based viral vectors expressing SARS‐CoV‐2 spike antigen and compared immune response following intraperitoneal and intranasal delivery. Route of vaccine administration shaped antibody and CD8+ T cell response magnitude, kinetics, and tissue residency, highlighting the potential of CMV vectors for induction of protective lung ...

Tunnelling through black rings

open access: yes, 2006
Hawking radiation of black ring solutions to 5-dimensional Einstein-Maxwell-dilaton gravity theory is analyzed by use of the Parikh-Wilczek tunnelling method.

A remark on the notion of robust phase transitions [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
We point out that the high-q Potts model on a regular lattice at its transition temperature provides an example of a non-robust - in the sense recently proposed by Pemantle and Steif- phase ...

Najpogostejše težave uporabnikov, odvisnih od psihoaktivnih substanc, in oseb z duševnimi motnjami v skupnostni obravnavi

Remarks on Hawking radiation as tunneling from the BTZ black holes

open access: yes, 2006
Hawking radiation viewed as a semiclassical tunneling process from the event horizon of the (2 + 1)-dimensional rotating BTZ black hole is carefully reexamined by taking into account not only the energy conservation but also the conservation of angular ...
