Fuzzy logic system for abnormal audio event detection using mel frequency cepstral coefficients
This paper presents a fuzzy logic system for audio event detection using mel frequency cepstral coefficients (MFCC). Twelve MFCC of audio samples were analyzed. The range of values of MFCC were obtained including its histogram.

ABSTRACT Human newborns are able to discriminate between certain languages but not others. This ability has long been attributed to sensitivity to rhythm—the temporal regularities in speech of different languages. Here, we demonstrate through a series of computational simulations that this discrimination behavior can be achieved using no temporal ...

Use of Mel Frequency Cepstral Coefficients for Automatic Pathology Detection on Sustained Vowel Phonations: Mathematical and Statistical Justification [PDF]
This paper presents a justification for the use of MFCC parameters in automatic pathology detection on speech. While such an application has produced good results up to now, only partial explanations to this good performance had been given before.
