In Silico Design and Validation of a Novel HPPD‐Inhibiting Herbicide Candidate Based on Benzofuran and Arylthioacetic Acid Scaffolds

open access: yesChemistry &Biodiversity, Volume 23, Issue 1, January 2026.
A benzofuran‐triketone hybrid emerged as the most promising 4‐hydroxyphenylpyruvate inhibitor, showing the highest predicted activity and strongest binding compared to the best experimental compound. Free computational tools guided candidate selection, predicted interactions with the enzyme, and confirmed stable binding.

More than symbioses : orchid ecology ; with examples from the Sydney Region [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
The Orchidaceae are one of the largest and most diverse families of flowering plants. Orchids grow as terrestrial, lithophytic, epiphytic or climbing herbs but most orchids native to the Sydney Region can be placed in one of two categories.

Looking Forward: Evaluating Management Scenarios for an Isolated Amphibian Population in a Dynamic Coastal Environment

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 1, January 2026.
Amphibians in coastal ecosystems risk local extirpation, particularly when isolated. ABSTRACT Urbanisation impacts biodiversity in coastal ecosystems. Conservation management is needed to improve species persistence in such areas where populations have become small and fragmented.

Anti‐Neuroinflammation Activity of Essential Oils and Fatty Acids

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 14, Issue 1, January 2026.
Neuroinflammation plays a pivotal role in the pathogenesis of neurodegenerative disorders, including Alzheimer's disease (AD) and Parkinson's disease (PD). Current pharmacological interventions, such as NSAIDs and corticosteroids, are limited by systemic toxicity and insufficient efficacy in targeting chronic neuroinflammatory processes.
