Improved Plywood Strength and Lowered Emissions from Soybean Meal/Melamine Urea-Formaldehyde Adhesives [PDF]
The objective of this study was to improve the wet shear strength and reduce the formaldehyde emissions for the soybean meal/melamine urea-formaldehyde (MUF) adhesive–bonded plywood by optimizing the hot pressing parameters in plywood manufacturing. An L(44) experimental design was used.

A Comparison of Adhesion Behavior of Urea-Formaldehyde Resins with Melamine-Urea-Formaldehyde Resins in Bonding Wood [PDF]
This paper reports a comparison of adhesion behavior of urea-formaldehyde (UF) with those of melamine-urea-formaldehyde (MU) resins in bonding wood by analyzing the results published in literatures. For this purpose, the adhesion behavior of UF resins prepared by blending low-viscosity resin (LVR) with high-viscosity resin (HVR) at five different ...

Functionalized Natural Tannins For Preparation of a novel non-isocyanate polyurea-based adhesive
In recent years, the shortcomings of products bonded with adhesives of conventional resins (e.g. urea-formaldehyde, phenol-formaldehyde, melamine-based) have raised concerns as people have become more environmentally conscious while fossil resources are ...

Hemp flour as a formaldehyde scavenger for melamine-urea-formaldehyde adhesive in plywood production
The possibility of using hemp flour as a filling material for melamine-urea-formaldehyde (MUF) adhesive was investigated for the process of manufacturing plywood. Adhesive mixtures were filled with various amounts of hemp flour and compared to rye flour as a reference mixture, and their properties were tested.
