Metastasis of optic disc melanoma to the brain: A case report

open access: yesIndian Journal of Ophthalmology. Case Reports
We report a rare case of optic disc melanoma that had metastasized to the brain after the malignant transformation of a melanocytoma and briefly describe the patient’s history and clinical features.

Dermoscopy and the Early Melanoma Concept

open access: yesInternational Journal of Dermatology, Volume 65, Issue S1, Page S52-S58, October 2026.
Comparison between static and dynamic dermoscopic assessment of melanocytic lesions. Static evaluation relies on a single time‐point morphological assessment and may leave uncertainty regarding biological relevance. In contrast, longitudinal dermoscopic follow‐up incorporates temporal changes, allowing lesions to be stratified according to stability ...

Biopsy of Iris and Anterior Chamber Tumours: Fine Needle, Minimally Invasive and Excision Techniques ‐ Review

open access: yesClinical &Experimental Ophthalmology, Volume 54, Issue 7, Page 955-973, September/October 2026.
ABSTRACT Several benign, inflammatory and malignant lesions can present as iris or anterior chamber masses, including iris naevi, cysts, adenomas, leiomyomas, nodules, vascular tumours, melanomas, metastases, as well as iris and pigment epithelium adenocarcinomas. Fortunately, benign iris lesions are much more common than malignant tumours and many can

Integrative Phosphoproteomic Profiling Reveals Stage‐Specific Signalling and Metabolism in Equine Melanocytic Neoplasm

open access: yesVeterinary and Comparative Oncology, Volume 24, Issue 3, Page 468-484, September 2026.
ABSTRACT Equine melanocytic neoplasms (EMN) are aggressive tumours characterised by high metastatic potential and limited therapeutic options available. However, the molecular mechanisms underlying their progression remain poorly understood. This study therefore presents the integrative phosphoproteomic analysis of EMN tissue, with the aim of ...

Meningeal Melanocytoma. Case Report.

open access: yes, 1974
A case of melanocytoma of the conus medullaris region is described, the tenth case in the literature. Differential diagnosis from other pigmented lesions of the meninges is discussed and the not entirely benign nature of the tumor emphasised.

Copy Number Analysis in Congenital Nevi: Concordance and Diagnostic Limitations of aCGH, sWGS, and Methylation Sequencing

open access: yesPigment Cell &Melanoma Research, Volume 39, Issue 4, July 2026.
Distinguishing proliferative nodules from melanoma in congenital melanocytic nevi remains challenging. While aCGH, sWGS, and methylation sequencing show high concordance for broad CNAs, higher‐resolution methods detect additional focal alterations that can lead to discordant classifications.

Intracranial meningeal melanocytoma: a case report and literature review [PDF]

open access: yes
Primary intracranial melanocytoma is an uncommon benign pigmented tumor arising from leptomeningeal melanocytes. Neuroimaging characteristics of central nervous system melanocytoma are distinct from similarly presenting intracranial neoplasms and can aid

Aosta Valley animal cancer registry: A collaborative initiative for monitoring cancer burden in animals

open access: yesVeterinary Record Open, Volume 13, Issue 1, June 2026.
Abstract Background Animal cancer registry data are important for monitoring animal health, for prevention and research in veterinary medicine, and for comparative oncology. Since people and animals share the same environment and are exposed to many common risk factors, cancer patterns in animals may have a sentinel function for human health.

Spitz melanocytoma with AKAP9::BRAF fusion: clinicopathologic and molecular insights

open access: yesDermatology Reports
Spitz melanocytoma is a melanocytic neoplasm of intermediate malignant potential. BRAF fusions are rare in Spitz tumors, and AKAP9::BRAF rearrangements are exceptionally uncommon.
