Turkeys ( Meleagris gallopavo ).
British Poultry Science, 20111. Ultrastructural changes that take place in the spermatids of the turkey were studied. Twelve steps of spermiogenesis are described. 2. Acrosomal formation is similar to that in the domestic fowl and quail. The perforatorium develops as a dense granule in a tubular invagination of the thickened part of the nuclear membrane during the acrosomal phase ...

Plasma lipoprotein distribution in the turkey (Meleagris gallopavo)
Comparative Biochemistry and Physiology Part B: Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, 2001The plasma lipoprotein profile has been determined in fasted 7-week-old male turkeys. Lipoprotein classes were subfractionated by density gradient ultracentrifugation. According to phospholipid concentration over the density gradient, an initial peak was visible in the usual LDL density range, whereas two peaks were detected in that of HDL.

Mycoplasma iowae in turkeys (Meleagris gallopavo)
World's Poultry Science Journal, 2013Mycoplasma are a successful group of pathogens because of their ability to enter and colonise a host, whilst, at the same time, evading the bird's immune response. Mycoplasma iowae (MI) is no exception and, while mostly being a pathogen of turkeys, it can be found in other domestic poultry.
