The Mellin Transform

2009
Generally speaking, unlike the Fourier and Laplace transforms, we find that the Mellin transform is not very useful in a direct manner. It is quite effective, however, in the derivation of certain properties of integrals, in summing series, and in statistics.

An improved Mellin transform approach to BSM formula of ML-payoff function

Journal of Interdisciplinary Mathematics, 2019
Panini and Srivastav introduced valuation of the European put option for plain vanilla payoff through Mellin transform. This transform fails to valuing European call option.

Mellin transform of CPMG data

Journal of Magnetic Resonance, 2010
This paper describes a new method for computing moments of the transverse relaxation time T(2) from measured CPMG data. This new method is based on Mellin transform of the measured data and its time-derivatives. The Mellin transform can also be used to compute the cumulant generating function of lnT(2).

Copy–move forgery detection utilizing Fourier–Mellin transform log-polar features

J. Electronic Imaging, 2018
. In this work, we address the problem of region duplication or copy–move forgery detection in digital images, along with detection of geometric transforms (rotation and rescale) and postprocessing-based attacks (noise, blur, and brightness adjustment ...

Automated initial guess in digital image correlation aided by Fourier–Mellin transform

, 2017
. The state-of-the-art digital image correlation (DIC) method using iterative spatial-domain cross correlation, e.g., the inverse-compositional Gauss–Newton algorithm, for full-field displacement mapping requires an initial guess of deformation, which ...

Statistical models for SAR amplitude data: A unified vision through Mellin transform and Meijer functions

European Signal Processing Conference, 2016
In the past years, many distributions have been proposed to model SAR images. In previous works, it has been shown that Mellin transform is a powerful tool to analyse random variable products: when speckle is modelled by a Gamma distribution, and when ...

Inductance Calculations for Circular Coils With Rectangular Cross Section and Parallel Axes Using Inverse Mellin Transform and Generalized Hypergeometric Functions

IEEE transactions on power electronics, 2017
The inductance integrals of air-core circular coils with rectangular cross section and parallel axes are difficult to tackle with analytical method due to the inclusion of Struve functions.

Multipliers for the Mellin Transformation

Canadian Mathematical Bulletin, 1978
AbstractIn this paper we generalize the Mellin multiplier theorem we proved earlier [8] to spaces with quite general weights, satisfying an Ap-type condition. Applications are made to the Hilbert transformation.

A scale invariant technique for detection of voice disorders using Modified Mellin Transform

International Conference on Emerging Technological Trends, 2016
The development of non-invasively derived measures for accurately detecting pathologies that can remove practitioner subjectivity and can save time and cost is an ongoing goal in the field of clinical voice assessment.
