Nomenclature and typification of sectional names in Carex (Cyperaceae)

open access: yesTAXON, Volume 74, Issue 6, Page 1543-1568, December 2025.
Abstract This paper presents an updated survey of all the published names at the section rank in Carex and its formerly accepted satellite genera. We included related names at other ranks when relevant. We address validity, legitimacy, priority, typification, and – if relevant – synonymy.

Higher-order Melnikov functions for degenerate cubic Hamiltonians

open access: yesAdvances in Differential Equations, 1996
The author considers quadratic perturbation problems of Hamiltonian systems in the plane with degenerate cubic Hamiltonians. He first uses the scheme of J. P. Francoise to compute explicitly the first four Melnikov functions \(M_1(h),\dots, M_4(h)\), then he proves the following five interesting theorems. Theorem 1.

On the existence of chaotic circumferential waves in spinning disks

open access: yes, 2007
We use a third-order perturbation theory and Melnikov's method to prove the existence of chaos in spinning circular disks subject to a lateral point load.

Higher order Melnikov function for a quartic hamiltonian with cuspidal loop

open access: yesDiscrete & Continuous Dynamical Systems - A, 2002
The authors consider the polynomial perturbations \[ X_{\varepsilon}=X_H+ \varepsilon f(x,y,\varepsilon)\frac{\partial}{\partial x}+ \varepsilon g(x,y,\varepsilon)\frac{\partial}{\partial y}, \] where \(f(x,y,\varepsilon)\) and \(g(x,y,\varepsilon)\) are polynomials in \(x,y\) with coefficients depending analytically on the small parameter ...

On exact solutions in multidimensional gravity with antisymmetric forms

open access: yes, 2003
This short review deals with a multidimensional gravitational model containing dilatonic scalar fields and antisymmetric forms. The manifold is chosen in the product form. The sigma-model approach and exact solutions are reviewed.Comment: 22 pages, Latex,

Melnikov functions and heteroclinic orbits in delay differential equations

open access: yesJournal of Mathematical Analysis and Applications, 1990
The author gives sufficient conditions for the existence of bounded solutions for the perturbed delay differential equation \(\dot z(t)=g(z_ t)+h(t,z_ t,\epsilon)\) where \(h(t,\phi,0)=0\), \(\epsilon >0\), \(z_ t(\theta)=z(t+\theta)\), \(\theta\in [-r;0]\) with \(r>0\).

On generalized analogues of black brane solutions in the model with multicomponent anisotropic fluid

open access: yes, 2011
A family of spherically symmetric solutions in the model with m-component anisotropic fluid is considered. The metrics are defined on a manifold which contains a product of n-1 Ricci-flat "internal" spaces. The equation of state for any s-th component is
