Many authors analyze the prediction of chaos in a Josephson junction with quadratic damping by the Melnikov technique. Due to the lack of an explicit presentation of the Melnikov integral, the researchers apply numerical methods and illustrative examples

The erosion of the safe basins and chaotic motions of a nonlinear vibroimpact oscillator under both harmonic and bounded random noise is studied. Using the Melnikov method, the system’s Melnikov integral is computed and the parametric threshold for ...

Numerical Computation of the Stable and Unstable Manifolds of Invariant Tori
We develop an iterative technique for computing the unstable and stable eigenfunctions of the invariant tori of diffeomorphisms. Using the approach of Jorba, the linearized equations are rewritten as a generalized eigenvalue problem.

The Political Economy of Attention: Media Salience, Voter Cognition, and Electoral Accountability
ABSTRACT We review conceptual and empirical contributions to the political economy of attention, with a focus on how attention allocation shapes political behavior and electoral accountability. The review distinguishes between endogenous (goal‐directed) and exogenous (stimulus‐driven) attention and examines how these concepts are incorporated into ...

Nonintegrability and Chaos in the Anisotropic Manev Problem
The anisotropic Manev problem, which lies at the intersection of classical, quantum, and relativity physics, describes the motion of two point masses in an anisotropic space under the influence of a Newtonian force-law with a relativistic correction term.

Homoclinic Orbits In Slowly Varying Oscillators [PDF]
We obtain existence and bifurcation theorems for homoclinic orbits in three-dimensional flows that are perturbations of families of planar Hamiltonian systems. The perturbations may or may not depend explicitly on time.

Digital Roots or Digital Routes? Broadband Expansion and the Rural‐Urban Migration in China
Abstract This study investigates how broadband internet affects rural–urban migration in China using the Universal Broadband and Telecommunication Services pilot program launched in 2015 as a quasi‐experimental setting. Analyzing China Household Finance Survey data (2013–2021) with difference‐in‐differences estimation, we find that improved internet ...

Melnikov theory to all orders and Puiseux series for subharmonic solutions
We study the problem of subharmonic bifurcations for analytic systems in the plane with perturbations depending periodically on time, in the case in which we only assume that the subharmonic Melnikov function has at least one zero.

HST/STIS observations of the RW Aurigae bipolar jet: mapping the physical parameters close to the source [PDF]
We present the results of new spectral diagnostic investigations applied to high-resolution long-slit spectra of the RW Aur bipolar jet obtained with HST/STIS.
