Operando X‐ray Spectroscopy Study of Pd and Pd–Au Laterally Condensed Catalysts during Selective Acetylene Hydrogenation: The Role of Carbon

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
The selective hydrogenation of acetylene over laterally condensed Pd and Pd–Au catalysts (LCCs) was investigated using operando X‐ray absorption and photoelectron spectroscopy in combination with density functional theory. Pd‐LCCs were found to incorporate significantly more carbon into the metal lattice than Pd–Au LCCs, where the carbon uptake governs

Preparation and characterization of poly(hydroxybutyrate) and hollow glass microspheres composite films: morphological, thermal, and mechanical properties

open access: yesJournal of Materials Research and Technology, 2019
In this work, of poly(hydroxybutyrate) (PHB) and glass microspheres (HGM) in different compositions with polypropylene-grafted-maleic anhydride (PP-g-MA) composites were developed by melt intercalation, and then, films from the composites and the polymer

High‐κ Perovskite‐Like Ternary Niobium Oxide Dielectrics for 2D Electronics

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
High‐κ dielectrics are vital for scaled electronics. Here, a family of 2D high‐κ perovskite‐like ternary niobium oxides is synthesized via a molten salt‐assisted method. Their integration into FETs and logic gates reveals superior switching characteristics, providing a fresh material platform and new insights for the advancement of high‐performance 2D ...

Bio-high density polyethylene films embedded with organoclay and zinc pyrithione

open access: yesPolímeros
Bio-high density polyethylene (BHDPE) films with organoclay and antimicrobial additives (zinc pyrithione) were evaluated. The composites were prepared in a single-screw extruder using the melt intercalation technique, and the films were obtained by flat ...

On‐Surface Synthesis of Bismuth Monolayers through Ice‐Confined Redox Reactions

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
We report an ice‐confined growth strategy for the synthesis of atomically thin 2D bismuth and related 2D metals. This approach involves rapid freezing of a BiCl3 aqueous solution on an aluminum foil using liquid nitrogen, which triggers interfacial redox reactions between the ice and the aluminum surface.

Development of novel melt-compounded starch-grafted polypropylene/polypropylene-grafted maleic anhydride/organoclay ternary hybrids

open access: yeseXPRESS Polymer Letters, 2012
Starch-grafted polypropylene (PP-g-starch)/organoclay nanocomposites were melt-compounded using a corotating twin-screw extruder. Homopolymer or copolymer-based polypropylene-grafted maleic anhydrides (PP-g-MA) with different molecular weights and ...
