Cellular memetic algorithms

open access: yesJournal of Computer Science and Technology, 2005
This work is focussed on the development and analysis of a new class of algorithms, called cellular memetic algorithms (cMAs), which will be evaluated here on the satisfiability problem (SAT). For describing a cMA, we study the effects of adding specific

A Comprehensive Robust Bi-objective Model and a Memetic Solution Algorithm for Designing Reverse Supply Chain Network under Uncertainty [PDF]

open access: yesچشم‌انداز مدیریت صنعتی, 2015
One of the major issues in a reverse supply chainmanagement is dealing with returned productsthrough a reverse logistics while considering uncertainty and non-financial performance measures alongside the more traditional financial measures. In this paper,

Production routing decisions in a two‐echelon supply chain with multiple delivery modes

open access: yesInternational Transactions in Operational Research, Volume 33, Issue 5, Page 3385-3421, September 2026.
Abstract We study an original two‐echelon production routing problem with multiple delivery modes (2E‐PRP‐MDM). In the first echelon, the primary production facility is tasked with satisfying the demands of two distinct entities: a set of warehouses and a set of customers through direct shipments. In the second echelon, warehouses become delivery hubs,

Hepatocyte BDNF Acts as a Novel Immune Checkpoint to Restrain TLR4‐Mediated Acute Hepatitis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 32, 9 June 2026.
This study identifies hepatocyte‐derived BDNF as an endogenous TLR4 antagonist that alleviates acute hepatitis. BDNF is downregulated in hepatocytes via REST‐mediated transcriptional repression during ALI/ALF. Mechanistically, BDNF binds to TLR4 on macrophages to suppress inflammation.

‘Gen Z Language? Y'all Mean AAVE’: The Appropriation of African American Vernacular English as ‘TikTok Language’

open access: yesJournal of Sociolinguistics, Volume 30, Issue 3, Page 255-267, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Sociolinguistic research has long documented the appropriation of African American Vernacular English (AAVE) across media including film, music and advertising. In this article, we add to this body of work by exploring the digital recontextualisation of a subset of AAVE features as ‘TikTok/internet language’.

A Memetic Algorithm for the Vehicle Routing Problem with Cross Docking [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Supply and Operations Management, 2015
In this paper we address the VRPCD, in which a set of homogeneous vehicles are used to transport products from the suppliers to customers via a cross-dock. The products can be consolidated at the cross-dock but cannot be stored for very long as the cross-

An improved adaptive memetic differential evolution optimization algorithms for data clustering problems.

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2019
The performance of data clustering algorithms is mainly dependent on their ability to balance between the exploration and exploitation of the search process.

Adaptive Hybrid Multi‐Objective Evolutionary Algorithm for Wireless Sensor Network Optimization: A Comprehensive Framework Integrating Opposition‐Based Learning and Levy Flight Strategies

open access: yesEngineering Reports, Volume 8, Issue 5, May 2026.
The configuration of WSN design parameters presents a formidable multi‐objective optimization challenge characterized by five competing objectives that exhibit complex interdependencies. Figure 1 illustrates a typical WSN deployment topology showing sensor nodes, cluster heads, coverage areas, and various network conditions including out‐of‐range ...

An Efficient Evolutionary Metaheuristic for the Traveling Repairman (Minimum Latency) Problem

open access: yesInternational Journal of Computational Intelligence Systems, 2020
In this paper we revisit the memetic evolutionary family of metaheuristics, called Discrete Bacterial Memetic Evolutionary Algorithm (DBMEA), whose members combine Furuhashi's Bacterial Evolutionary Algorithm and various discrete local search ...
