2016*56. Iolaus menas menas Druce, 1890 WL: 19mm. I. menas is a new record for Guinea-Bissau, though its presence in the country was previously suggested (Larsen, 2005). The species occurs mainly in savanna and the nominate subspecies ranges from Senegal to Cameroon, Sudan and Ethiopia. The caterpillars feed on some species of Loranthaceae.
