Empirically Integrating the Evidence for Different Predictive Coding Components Using Auditory False Perception

open access: yesHuman Brain Mapping, Volume 46, Issue 8, June 1, 2025.
This study integratively measured the independent components of the predictive coding system including priors, confidence, prediction errors (PEs) and perceptual inference. The results showed that subjects with higher confidence in priors are more likely to shape perception towards prior belief and are more sensitive to context‐driven PEs.

Cervical VEMP tuning changes by Meniere's disease stages

open access: yesLaryngoscope Investigative Otolaryngology, 2019
Objective To determine if changes in cervical vestibular‐evoked myogenic potential (cVEMP) testing reflect the different stages of cochlea‐saccular hydrops in Meniere's disease (MD). Methods This is a case‐control retrospective series.

Utility of Prognostic Nutritional Index and Systemic Immune‐Inflammation Index Inpatients With Sudden Sensorineural Hearing Loss: A Large Prospective Cohort Study

open access: yesImmunity, Inflammation and Disease, Volume 13, Issue 6, June 2025.
In this study, we investigated the relationship with human inflammatory status and nutritional level with the occurrence and prognosis of SSNHL patients. Lower PNI values and higher SII values may promote the occurrence of SSNHL, while higher PNI values and lower SII values may suggest a better prognosis for SSNHL.

Sporadic Porphyria Cutanea Tarda, Cutaneous Sarcoidosis, and Compound Heterozygosity of HFE Mutations Cys282Tyr and His63Asp—A Case Report

open access: yeseJHaem, Volume 6, Issue 3, June 2025.
ABSTRACT Porphyria cutanea tarda (PCT) is caused by inherited or acquired defects of uroporphyrinogen decarboxylase (UROD) in the heme biosynthetic pathway. Altered iron homeostasis via hemochromatosis gene (HFE) mutations is one of many susceptibility factors associated with the sporadic form of PCT.
