A 63-year-old woman underwent a left craniotomy for the removal of a middle cranial fossa meningioma. Microscopically, the tumor showed a transitional and fibroblastic histological pattern. Within the tumoral tissue there were collagenous foci where little eosinophilic masses were found.

Interstitial intracranial radiotherapy implants, or brachytherapy, is an adjuvant option for treatment of recurrent high-grade meningiomas after resection. The implants are placed in the resection cavity following tumor resection. The most commonly used isotope is Iodine-125 (I-125).

Six meningiomas with abundant hyaline inclusions (pseudopsammoma bodies) were studied. As seen by light and electron microscopy, hyaline inclusions are composed of material of varying structures located in intracellular lumina lined by microvilli. A remarkable pericytic proliferation within the vessel walls was found in five cases.
